Description

You weren’t sure where you had gone. You were lost in the forest, unable to find your way back. You went out looking for Pokémon but ended up getting lost. You had a map as well, but thanks to the rough terrain and harsh conditions, that ended up getting damaged and torn until it was unintelligible. “Dammit.” You groaned, feeling your ankles roll over rocks and roots of trees. “The forest is no place for me.” You continued. You were used to being at home, occasionally taking your bike or car out to look for Pokémon. Of course, none of that compared to this. Your feet hurt. You decided to take a break by a tree, digging in your pack. You took out an energy bar, unwrapping it. “Good thing I packed this.” You said. It was one of your favourites. Pecha Berry, oats, marshmallows, and yogurt. Most people would’ve distained it, but you had a very interesting fascination with the flavour. Just as you were about to take a bite, a pair of eyes stared at you from a bush. “Nite?” It asked, straightening itself. “Uh oh.” You said cautiously, feeling the urge to run. You got up on your feet and ran deeper into the forest, leaving your energetic treat behind. “Drag..! Nite! Dragonite!” It called back, chasing after you. Eventually you could hear it taking flight, following you as you ran though the forest, tripping over an overgrown branch and faceplanting in the mud. The large creature landed in front of you, and you ended up feeling as if you were ready to face your death. Instead, it extended a thick, orange claw to help you up. You carefully grab it, and the dragon type yanks you up from the mud. They hand you your bar back. “Dragonite?” It asked, visibly distressed. It seemed to want to know if you were okay. “I-I’m fine…” You stammer, reaching in your bag for a Pokémon interpreter. Technology had evolved enough for you to finally be able to understand what Pokémon were saying. So, hopefully this Dragonite wasn’t as angry as it sounded. You carefully held it up to them, hands shaking. “Can you…say something?” You ask the orange winged beast. They nodded their head, responding with a “Hi.” Your eyes rolled back, as you could feel yourself slipping from consciousness. Right as you were about to lose complete control, you hear a concerned whimper come from the pudgy dragon type.

You wake up a few hours later, vision blurred and body aching. You could feel yourself regaining your senses as you felt the pain you were in. You looked at your watch, noticing how it was 10:19 PM. You groaned as you sat up straight. You cracked your back as you could feel your body fix itself after being so stiff. It was like you slept on a…rock. You looked around, unable to see much. Luckily, you had packed a flashlight in your backpack. You reached for it, and…it wasn’t there. You reached for your phone, which stupendously was there. You checked it, your eyes being blared with the blinding full-brightness. You covered your eyes, squinting furiously as you attempted to turn the brightness down. You eventually made it bearable, so you looked at it normally. No service, as usual. You sighed, turning the flashlight built into it on. “Hello..?” You asked cautiously, looking around for who or whatever it was that brought you here. A soft voice reassures you that you’re not alone. “You’re awake!” A cheery voice pipes up from behind some rocks. You flash your light in the direction. The Dragonite from before raises an arm, covering their eyes. “Ow…” They whined, shielding their eyes from the blinding light coming from your phone. “Where am I?” You interrogated them, pushing it towards them. “In my cave..!” They shouted, trying to stop themselves from going blind. “I took you here after you passed out!” You squinted at them. They didn’t seem very tough. But they made a necklace of your interpreter! …at least you can understand what they were saying. “Why did you save me?” They took an arm down, starting to get used to the light. “I didn’t just want to leave you there to die…so I brought you here.” You scoffed, impressed. Not all Pokémon were after your food. “I ate your granola bar, though. I figured you wouldn’t mind…” Or maybe they were. You sighed, sitting against a rock, placing your phone down. “Thanks, anyways.” You said, stretching yourself out. “So, who are you?” The Dragonite asked. “I’m Y/N.” They smiled, but of course you couldn’t see thanks to them being so far back in the cave. They walked closer towards you, their body getting more visible in the moonlight. “That’s a nice name.” They said, sitting down next to you. You shuffled over a bit, feeling a bit uncomfortable. And yet, something about their presence was calming. “What’s yours..?” You questioned, looking the creature up and down. “Oh, my name? It’s been a while since I’ve said it. It’s Pecha.”

You smiled politely. They seemed nice enough... “I hope you don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.” They said, looking at the weather. It seemed to have started to snow. “It’ll be a tough time finding your way back home through all of this.” You sighed. “Yeah…” You said with disappointment in your voice. They continued to grin. “This can be fun, though!” They got up, walking over to a pile of logs and lighting it on fire. “I also happen to have marshmallows, in case you want to fill up on something.” Fire toasted marshmallows? You never had. Your mouth watered at the thought. You almost ran to the fire, setting yourself by it and warming up. “I didn’t notice how cold it was until now…” You said, shivering slightly. Pecha laughed. “That’s how the cold gets you around here.” They said, sticking marshmallows on a stick and sticking them over a fire. “You don’t notice how cold it is until it’s too late.” You shivered again. Not just with cold, but with those words. “I’m…glad you saved me. Thanks.” You sheepishly share your gratefulness. The orange pudgy dragon waves their claw. “No problem! I’m glad I saved one that was kind…” Their mind finished their seemingly already finished sentence. “And cute…” You watched curiously as they rotated the marshmallows over the open flame, careful not to light them on fire. They browned nicely, turning to a golden shade like a sunset. They handed you the stick. “Here. Take them off and see how they taste.” You peeled one off, popping it in your mouth. The melted sugar burned your tongue, and you opened your mouth in sudden pain. “Careful…they’re hot.” They stated. You whimpered, chewing it and swallowing it. With what taste buds you didn’t burn off, you could tell that this Dragonite could cook. Well, marshmallows as far as you could tell. “These are good.” You said, licking your lips from the sticky goodness and taking a few more off. You handed the stick back to them, some marshmallows still on it. “You didn’t want the rest?” Pecha questioned, looking at you with worried eyes. You chewed the next marshmallow you stuffed in your mouth, swallowing it. “I saved them for you.” You said, gesturing to the stick. Pecha looked at them, then back at you with a thankful expression. “Th-thanks…” They said, eating them one by one. You noticed that some marshmallow was on their face, and you giggled at this. Pecha looked themselves over, wondering why you were laughing. “Is something wrong..?” You suddenly snapped back into reality. “Wha..? Oh, no. You just have some marshmallow on you…” You said, pointing to their chubby face. They wiped down the side of their muzzle, getting it off. “Oh…thanks.” You chuckled. “No problem.” You said, your mind racing with thoughts. “They’re adorable…I should say something…”

“I appreciate you letting me stay here for the night…” You said, sticking your hands in your pockets. “I haven’t had a Pokémon friend before.” Pecha smiled warmly. “No problem! I’m glad I could help. If you like, tomorrow I can fly you home.” You nodded. “I’d like that…thank you.” The dragon type nodded their head, blushing slightly. “I wish they could stay longer…” Pecha thought, feeling lovesick almost. You stayed awake for a while longer, before noticing that your watched started beeping. It had just turned to 11:00 PM. “Oh…” You said, realizing how time flew with your new friend. “I guess I should get some sleep…” You continued, lying down. Pecha chuckled. “Yeah…you go ahead. I’ll keep the fire going so you don’t get cold.” They stated as you stretched yourself out. “Thanks…” You said, closing your eyes and falling asleep. You awoke to your phone’s alarm. It was 9:30 AM, and the snow was still falling. You looked over at the fire, seeing how it was dead. It had been for a while. How did you not awake? Whenever the temperature was wrong, you’d wake up and couldn’t sleep until it was fixed. You felt a claw wrap around your waist. Your face flushed with red, as you noticed how the chubby dragon had you lying on top of them. You noticed how warm and soft their belly was, almost like a luxury king sized bed. “Pecha?” You asked, struggling to get down. The dragon’s eyes snapped awake, glancing at you. Their face immediately flushed red, their mouth quivering. “S-sorry! I noticed that I ran out of logs, and I couldn’t find anything to keep you warm, so I decided…” You sighed, hopping down from them. “It’s fine…it was a rather pleasant sleep. And it’s better than sleeping on that hard ground.” The Dragonite chuckled nervously. “Heh...yeah..." You stretched your back, grabbing your phone. “Oh, I meant to ask. Do you have my bag?” Pecha nodded. “Here.” They lifted a rock, handing it to you. “Thanks…” You said, looking it over. You didn’t have anything of value in there. Mostly just Pokéballs, bait, just whatever you needed to catch Pokémon. “Nothing’s crushed…” You said, almost amazed. Pecha nodded again. “Of course not. I just put a rock over the strap, so nobody could come in and steal it.” “Hm…good idea.” You said, stepping out into the freshly fallen snow. You didn’t come prepared for this. Pecha walked over, getting on all fours. “Hop on.” They said, giving themselves a little wiggle. You brought one leg over the Dragonite’s back, wrapping your hands around their neck. “Hold on tight…” Pecha said softly before taking to the air. The cold air rushed through your lungs, causing you to really wake up. You looked around at the beautiful wonderland below you. “Wow…the view is incredible…” You said breathlessly, as the chubby dragon continued to fly you around. “Where do you live?” They asked, turning their head from side to side as they scanned the landscape. You pointed to a small cabin in the woods. “There.” Pecha nodded, starting their descent towards it.

The dragon swiftly landed, spraying some loose snow up from the sudden burst of wind. You got off your new friend, hugging them tightly. “Thanks.” You said, opening the door to your house. “I hope to see you again.” Pecha said, whimpering slightly. “Maybe you will. I go for walks often.” You responded, closing the door. You looked around your home. It was quiet…peaceful…but lonely. You were decent looking…you were fit…no physical qualities. You were kind, and empathetic. Nothing mental either. So why didn’t you have anyone to be with? Simple. You got along with Pokémon better than humans. You always enjoyed talking to Pokémon, even if you could never understand them. Which made you remember. “Oh, wait…!” You opened your door, shouting out to Pecha. “I need my interpreter..!” But by the time you had gotten inside, Pecha had flown away. Out of sight, out of mind. You sighed, closing the door back behind you again. “Maybe I’ll see them again sometime…” You whimpered, taking your clothes off to go for a hot shower. After being in the cave all night, it felt nice to warm your bones with hot water. You dried yourself off, putting your pajamas on, and sitting down on your couch. You grabbed a blanket and wrapped yourself up in it, turning the TV on. “Nothing too…exciting on…” You felt yourself dozing off, despite just waking up. Perhaps it was the warmth that your shower gave you that relaxed your body. Nonetheless, your sleepy state was interrupted by a knock at the door. “That must be Pecha.” You said, feeling yourself get all giddy and happy. “I hoped to see them again, but didn’t expect it to be so soon.” You got up, heading over to the door and opening it. Your joy had been put to a stop when you realized who it was at the door. The mailman. “Here’s your package.” He stated, handing you a parcel. “I need you to sign here.” He said, holding out a clipboard and a pen. You rolled your eyes, doing as said before closing the door. You went back to your couch, unwrapping the box. You checked the contents, which happened to be a brand-new interpreter. “Huh…this is odd.” You said, reading the letter that came with it. “Hello there, trainers of the Poké-world! We have sent everyone that has signed themselves up for the interpreter program brand new Poké-Translators. They match your Pokémon’s voice now, along with adding more words and meanings to the vocabulary.” You shrugged. “I didn’t have any issues with my old one…and I liked Pecha’s soft voice…it was calming…soothing…” You continued reading the note. “If you have any issues with this current one, send it back and we’ll send you a replacement. No money required.” You shrugged, putting the note back in the box along with the interpreter. It was cool and all, but it wasn’t Pecha’s. You now found yourself thinking of the Dragonite constantly. They wouldn’t leave your mind.

It was almost as if you…had feelings for them. But that would be insane. A human couldn’t love a Pokémon the way a human loves another human…right? You sighed, wracking your brain, trying to exterminate these thoughts but they kept coming. You couldn’t change how you felt about the pudgy orange dragon type. They saved your life, and something about that was really attractive. You didn’t care how they looked or what they were doing…you had to find Pecha…which wasn’t hard, because you noticed a familiar shape looking at you from outside. You swiftly got up and opened the door, and there they were. Standing in front of you in all of their glory. “Hi…” Pecha started. “I hope you don’t mind…I kind of lost my way, and I can’t see in the snow, so…can I stay here..? If it’s not too much to ask? Please?” You laughed. “Of course. It’s only fair.” You stepped to the side, allowing them to pass. You closed the door behind their flicking tail. “Thanks.” Pecha’s smile returned to their face. You could only stare in amazement at the creature. You eventually noticed how creepy you looked and went back to sitting down at the couch. Pecha stared at you from where they were standing, only to look away whenever you looked at them. It was as if you both knew how you felt. You eventually patted the cushion next to yourself, gesturing Pecha to come over to you. “Come…” You said, patting it again and again. Pecha obliged, sitting on the cushion and stretching out. They laid their head on your lap and couldn’t help but giggle at the thought of feeding them grapes as if they were royalty. You patted their head, scratching their neck as you felt a newfound emotion while spending time with your Dragonite pal. “Y/N?” Pecha asked, looking at you with large, soft eyes. You looked back down. “Yeah?” Pecha’s face started going red. You could tell they were about to ask something. “Can I…stay…with you..?” The looked down at the ground. “I mean, if you don’t want me to, that’s okay. I just figured I’d ask in case you did. So, I mean-” You lowered your head and kissed them on the forehead. Their face went warm and red. “Of course…you saved my life. Now I get to return the favour.” The dragon type purred as they got up to hug you. They fell backward, causing you to be lying on top of their big, jiggly gut. You laughed as they hugged you tightly. “One more thing…” Pecha asked, letting go of you. You looked at them, staring into their eyes. “Do you…like me..?” You smiled again. “Why wouldn’t I?” You asked, rubbing their head. “You’re sweet…you’re funny…and…cute…” Your face immediately turned red as you seemed shocked at what you had just said.

“Did I just say that?” You thought, bashing yourself for this mistake. “What if they don’t like me back? What if-” Your thoughts were interrupted by a claw that went around your back. The large Dragonite pet you, as they pecked you on the lips. “You’re cute too.” They responded, blushing somehow harder than they had been before. You, aside from feeling embarrassed, felt overwhelmed with emotion and could simply just lie on their large gut. Minutes passed, and you’re both back in reality. You’re watching television, still on Pecha before a loud growling is heard. Pecha’s gut trembles, causing you to quake. “What was that? An earthquake?” Pecha chuckled. “No…that was my stomach. I’m pretty hungry…” You smiled. “Oh. Well, stay here. I’ve got a bunch of food to feed you.” Pecha licked their lips at the thought of eating more. “Did you want Poké-food, or regular human food?” Pecha thought for a moment. “Both..?” They questioned, hoping you’d do just that. You chuckled. “Of course…big dragons gotta eat big meals, huh?” Pecha blushed. They were nowhere near being thin. In fact, aside from Snorlax, the only Pokémon remotely close to a Dragonite’s size is Goodra. And even then, Pecha was still slightly overweight. You didn’t mind. “Coming right up.” You continued as you grabbed a bag of Poké-food, and a dish of human food. You managed to whip together a few Poképuffs with some butter, marshmallows, and sugar. The sweet treat looked amazing. You brought the plate over to your friend, lying down on top of them again. “Open wide.” You said, as you brought the sugary dessert towards their large maw. Pecha opened their mouth, feeling the Poképuff fall inside. They chewed it slowly, savouring the flavour. “Mm…these are good.” They moaned, swallowing before opening their mouth for another. Then another…and another…until they were gone. The Dragonite lay content on the ground, tired from the fun you two had. You checked your watch. “9:23 PM already, huh?” You sighed, slowly sliding down the orange dragon type’s gut. You rubbed it gently, feeling its scaly texture and soft, plushy-like squish. Pecha moaned and whimpered in pleasure, causing them to blush. You laughed it off, feeling like it was enjoyable for both of you. “Where are you going..?” Pecha asked, as you started to head for your room. “To bed…do…you want to sleep with me..?” Pecha smiled. “That’d be nice…” They said, getting up. “Come on then.” You exclaimed, opening the door wide enough for your new friend to fit through. With a bit of a struggle, Pecha made it through and flopped on your bed. You closed the door, following their example. “Pecha?” You asked, placing a hand on the side of their torso. “Yes, Y/N?” “I love you.” You stated, turning the light switch off from your bed. “I love you too.” The dragon replied, giving you a kiss on the lips.
