While this piece was done awhile ago, I couldn't help but recollect the recent events of Sara, er, fighting Jackie. I won't spoil what happens, but let's just say Sara gets... angry. When I saw Adrianohq had done the pencils for this some time ago, I really felt it was fitting for what happened. This was actually a lot harder and more time consuming than I expected. I also didn't plan on doing a Witchblade piece, but while I was doing my daily gawking over at nebezial 's work, I was reminded how excellent Stjepan's work was/is with Witchblade and that he helped inspire me to do my own comic works in the digital painting realm. So I said, what the hell. And painted this. In terms of improvement, I feel like I'm getting better and I'm realizing more shadows and how they naturally work. And last by not least, I really wanted to make sure it was a destructive looking scene without deterring from the characters. I don't know if any of you have read anything from Witchblade, The Darkness, or the Angelus comics (even Broken Trinity), but there is always mass destruction when artifact bearers rise up against each other. And I mean massive destruction. Haha, anyways feedback and comments are always welcome!

I'm afraid I've missed a bunch from Witchblade I only get an idea from what I read on wikipedia/or online sites. Sooooo... knowing what's been updated. I can't blame Sara

I think so too XD. I miss her with Hope:/. I mean I know him and Jenny are probably happy/happy. But I liked Hope better with Sara as her mother.

Agreed. Probably the reason for the change (that I can imagine) is that people complained that Sara should be focused on her work and the Witchblade's supernatural elements and not motherly instincts. But that's the thing I like about Witchblade versus other comics: You have real people in precarious and crappy situations that are just people, even if they have weapons of power or destinies to fulfill.

Really? Hm thats odd I enjoyed her moments Sara's moments with Hope. I dunno I mean I thought it could work, I mean yeah all that action, magical powers, and fighting bad guys is fun. But I dunno made Sara feel more real seeing her trying to be a mother. Pluss I would had loved to seen moments with Hope and Danielle seeing how she helped deliver the baby.

I am familiar with nebezial's Witchblade work and visibly I can see where you found inspiration in his work. Also yes its clear Sara has had enough. The body language, the posture, the facial expression, and the look in her eyes.
My first encounter with Witchblade happen outside the comics which I was totally unaware of at the time. It was in fact Yancy Butler as Detective Sara Pezzini in a television series called Witchblade - it has only two seasons.

I saw Witchblade when I first saw the 1/2 issue with Tomb Raider and Witchblade back in 1996. I wasn't very sure what it was about (given the strange name) but I never forgot about it and did pay attention to it from time to time. It wasn't until the 'War of the Witchblades' that Ron Marz and Stjepan Sejic (nebezial ) that I got really into it and then before that event was completely over, I crammed and started from the beginning of the series. I think it was their team work, the great writing and gorgeous art that helped me get a leg into Witchblade and pushed me to read more of it.

Nebezial certainly keeps the comics interesting with his passion for the characters and their appearances. I follow him and his wife here on dA. Both are amazing in their artworks.
