Description As a Taismo fan (or Tailsmo, Cosails, or even Costails), I decided to TRY drawing Cosmo for the first time doing a female character that's from the Sonic X series. At first, it was...hard. But, looking at some tutorials and artwork of Cosmo thoroughly (and I mean THOROUGHLY!), I kinda managed to do it though poses are VERY hard for me when it comes to the hands. I have a very hard bloody time to deal with the hands! Ugh. >.<;

Anyways, this is also the first for trying out to make a simple background art with it... and I don't like the way it looks, unfortunately. *sighs* Ah well.

So yeh, hope you Taismo fans like this! =3

It's a very cute picture, and you seem to have a good handle on the thumbs, though the foreshortening of the fingers needs work (hell, I need to work on fingers too lol) and while Tails and Cosmo's bodies look kind of stiff in the way they pose, I like how you did the perspective.

Now, try varying the thickness and pressure of your strokes to make them lighter for light spots. Even colour over them to make some blended colours. Was this done with crayons? 'Cause crayons are just an underrated, less-messy version of oil pastels. You can do a lot of neat stuff with crayons and colour pencils, so try and experiment with them.

With the sky and other solid backgrounds, keep all your strokes in the same direction so it looks more unified. Remember that your strokes can end up making shapes if you colour in different directions, and that can end up making your background look messy. There are a lot of neat tutorials for colouring with crayons and pastels.

Mind you, I still haven't mastered drawing or painting. I just want to help other artists improve while I learn a few things too. Anyway, very cute drawing!

I am also quite bad with hands and poses, so I usually settle for the side of the head or sometimes the front, and leave the rest of my skill for drawing weapons and other objects that actually have a solid form I can visualize enough to draw without worrying about biology and all that. Even so, my best drawing so far is my most recent Evil Mad Hatter Paper Mario Style, which successfully accomplished almost everything I usually have trouble with. XD Good job with the picture, even if it was colored with crayons instead of using Photoshop like me! XD I can't color very good without messing up or wanting to change something somehow, so you did a good job in that regard!
