Okay, wait. Is this snow? It sure looks like, but I don't think it is? It's so quiet and pieceful, though!

hehe

Are you unfamiliar with infrared photography?

Actually, no! I see it here on dA frequently but I dont really know how it's made! You're doing it pretty often, dont you? Is it easy?

Oooh, yes and no - easy is a relative term here

Other digital cameras require careful modification to convert them to IR/full-spectrum, on a Sigma you just pop out a filter that sits inside the lens mount. Takes like 20 seconds, costs nothing and can be reversed, so that aspect is easy. But it's been quite a learning curve to get comfortable shooting IR on this thing, which is why I've been practicing it so much lately

If you want to give it a go you can try it on your camera without modifying it. The internal IR blocking filters aren't 100% perfect, so if you use an IR pass filter (something like 720nm or 740nm) and a long exposure / high ISO you can get an image.

Hmm.. thank you for your explanaition! I think I have to take some more time studying this field of art, but it seems defenitely worth it. How long have you been making pictures like that?

I've only been at it for a few months, since December last year.
