Description
this is a view of the smog that we breathe everyday. we normally do not realize how gross it is, but when one travels a mere 5 or 6 thousand feet up on the san bernardino mountains--it is easy to see the pollution's presence. normally i can see the mountains from my house--they are a short 15 or 20 miles "as the crow flies" from my doorstep--but on this particular day--i noted that i could not even see them because of the haze and smog...eww!!! from this "turnout" on highway 18, the "rim of the world" highway, one would be able to see san bernardino, redlands, loma linda, and the neighboring communities, but it is very difficult to even make out a street, or the runway of norton air force base--which is highly visible from the mountain.
