Although one does not immediately associate butterflies with the beauty of the Himalayas - there is a small Indian state called Sikkim who boasts 700 species of them, which is about half the total number of butterfly species recorded in India.

already commented on this one,
you must read a lot
or
are older than I think
or
just well versed in a lot of information that others may ot find not find very interesting, but then you never know. Like where did you pick up the information on the b-flys in Sikkim?

Hey, I have a small story, a true event that I want to send in a note and the question is:
Have you evr experienced anything like, this?
Please read the tale in the note sent

Heheh - I read. A lot. And I'm a voracious research hound. I get an idea in my head, I'm off and running to the books and literature to study what I'm thinking about. I'm 35... feel 25.... and think it's just my nature, and not age, that always keeps me quizzical. As for the butterflies....

I originally began this piece, thinking of the girl with ribbons trailing, the mountains - and perhaps birds flitting about. I knew I wanted this to be in the Himalayas, so I started reading up on the wildlife in the area. I didn't want to put birds that were technically *not* in the Himalayas... perhaps nitpicky on my part, but that is how it is. Heheh. Well, upon studying up on this, I just stumbled across a small piece written about Sikkim, and was totally fascinated to hear about the butterflies there! I knew instantly that I needed to change my original idea, and incorporate the butterflies. Now, technically - I have no idea what species of butterflies I have in my picture, or which ones reside in Sikkim... but I figured I could let that slide, since with 700 species there... I was at the very least representing some of them with the stock I found. lol

As for the note, you have me intrigued! I'll go read my notes now...

do you use a mac or pc? (<---hehe, must be a PC) Mine is a mac and this pc at the school sucks, maybe I am a spoiled child but the graphics on a mac are far, far superior to any PC, right down to the type displayed in these comments or notes. Maybe I should back down from PCs as I set all my preferences to viewing at 96 ppi, or was that just for PS?
My typical answer is: I dunno

lol, I'm on a laptop PC at the moment, but it's wicked powerful. I got it specifically to do my art, so it *had* to have a massive graphics card... so everything looks pretty sweet on it. As for basic PC's at a school and such, hmmm - I dunno either. But I know that must suck, cause I've seen Macs, and they are sweet. I probably need to get one someday. lol

The first thing I ever read about a month said, apple/macintosh computers have never had a virus,' and it went on to explain why. They extremely satble any very rarely crash, but that is not 100%. they rarely freeze but that has more to do with RAM and a number of other things like, well, never mind. Graphic wise, that is what they were built for, primarily, in the first place. Anyway, Macs rule
