Artist's Notes: My first experiment using my Intuos3, Corel Painter IX, and Photoshop CS2. I figured I would put this in the 'misc' catagory, since there was quite a blend of things I used to create this.

Question: What type of medias was used in this excellent piece?
Why I ask is because mixed media is actually traditional painting, scanning, collage, etc in one artwork. And you used all digital applications to make this so I'm not sure that contributes as a mix media, it's more cross-application.
Me using photoshop and illustrator doesn't make my work mix media, it's still digital artwork.
I'm just asking and giving my 2cents. It's a great piece.

The fish is painted from reference, but the rest is pieced together in photomanipulation, and textured in Corel Painter.
^kuschelirmel is the champion of this new gallery, and wrote that article. She's been very helpful and supportive of all the pieces I've contributed thus far.

You'll be happy to find out that your photoshop and illustrator work does qualify now, for Digital Mixed Media! 
It explains it much better than I do... but for the Digital Mixed Media, as long as two forms of digital media is used (say, Intuos artpad painting, and Photomanipulation... or Vector and Photoshop..etc. etc.) it qualifies to be in the Digital Mixed Media.
The Traditional Mixed Media gallery is still there, and still only allows the traditional methods you listed.

Ahh actually, I stand corrected because I didn't check to see it's actually Digital Mix Media. If it was just Mix Media, then I wouldn't even agree with dA's definition but since it's Digital, I guess I stand very much corrected. Well, that's crazy, didn't even know about this gallery or did I? Most of my work goes between illustrator, photoshop using photography and photomanipulations

This is too amazing for words. I have always loved Asia stock's stock photos and that daisy is beautiful and fits wonderfully. The woman in the manip is drop dead gorgeous. Perfect work hun.
