Sounds like my cat, Nala.
When she first meets you, she's terrified, and keeps her distance. However, while distancing herself, she observes carefully to determine whether or not you will be tolerated. If she doesn't like you, nothing you do short of feeding her will change her mind. ^.^;; And once the food's gone, she's back to hating you.
Anyway, very nice, very scary; not what I was expecting when I saw the title in my message thingy. ^.^
