Description Spiral dragons were known for many things. They were known for being energetic, quick, flying in erratic patterns and they were known for having trouble focusing on one thing, but they were superior at multitasking. However, their most well kept secret was unexpected of such normally happy and social creatures. Now, it was common knowledge that various spirals were talented spellcasters, but the true secret lies with the less magically talented.

"Get out of here, return to the safety of our lair!" the strongest warrior of the clan, a male guardian with an impressive beard, shouted to him. The large dragon never took his eyes off the dangerous creatures before him, dark, twisting, nameless shapes all knew were spawn of the Shade. A war had begun.
"No, I don't want to die a coward! I will fight too!" the young spiral answered, determined to help out his clan, and all of the continent, in this struggle against their ancient enemy.
"You know nothing of magic, and your body is weak. Leave the fighting to the warriors." the larger dragon spoke harshly.
"But I want to help-"
"If you want to help, stop distracting me. Now get back inside!" for once, the guardian turned around, his gaze exerting a pressure powerful enough to make anyone subject to his will. The spiral knew this was an order, and turned away from the battlefield. However, he had no wish to return to their den. He believed it to be a shame to sit back and watch as others were dying out there, but there was nothing he could do. No. There had to be something he could do. He knew his power would never compare to that of imperials, snappers and guardians, and his magical abilities were matched even by Fae hatchlings, but he was quick and agile. There had to be some way he could use that in battle. Then an idea dawned to him. Taking a last look around to make sure no one would notice him leaving, he set off for the Blacksand Annex.

"What do you want us to do?" the coatl, barely older than a hatchling, gasped in shock.
"Curved blades, see?" the spiral pointed at his sketch of two nearly identical weapons, the direction of the spikes on the knuckle bow being the only difference.
The two friends stared at the drawing for a little while, then the spiral sighed.
"Please, I really want this. I can't wield a heavy weapon or cast spells, but I can spiral and dodge better than anyone else. With this, rotation and agility are the only things I need to be a valuable warrior."
"But what if you-"
"But what if I don't?" the spiral embraced his friend with all six of his wings. "We'll make our clans proud- no, all of Sornieth will remember us!"
The coatl allowed a sad smile on her face when seeing the determination in her friend's eyes.
"Well..."
How much she loved those eyes. She wouldn't dare cause the disappointment to extinguish the beautiful flame in his irises.
"I know how good you are at forging weapons, with the help of your sister, I'm sure we can make these swords!"
She changed her mind. "Right, hesitation won't get us anywhere. Just promise me you won't regret any of this, okay?"
"No doubt I won't"
Neither of them slept that night, bringing the sketch into the real world, sharpening the edges of the steel until it could easily slice through any fruit.
As soon as the weapons were finished, the spiral took them in his hands, flew up a little bit, and spun around the way only spirals could, the blades turning him into a lethal spiralling flash, before he landed again, and looked back to his friend, his eyes as fiery as the flames the blades were forged in.
"I will end this war."
Then he took wing.

Spirals were known for many things. They were known to be energetic, quick... but from that day on, they were also known for their fierceness with the rotating blades, the Seven Edges of Elimination.

I like your name for the blades. Seven edges of elimination. Very grand.

A good piece of story as well. It could use some polish though, But a nice glimpse into your world.

The blades are interesting as a weapon as well. Always continue to hammer out the complexities of weaponry. A weapons design can grow greatly with ongoing interest.

Β I see much potential in this.

I'm so glad you do.

I'm far from an expert on the matter, but I like designing (graceful) weapons that I think might work. You have some gorgeous ones in your weapons favourite folder. ^^

That looks pretty! and great story! I love it when you combine art with storytelling

I love doing that, too.

I'm not one for long stories, but I love short ones.

That's great are all the short stories from the same world?

Not at all. Almost all stories I write are completely unrelated to the others. My stories are usually a bit like fables, although there isn't always a 'lesson' included (but oftentimes there is).

fables are nice! I couldn't help to get the feeling that they were all part of the same universe though... don't know why XD

They don't, but I'm sort of curious why it would feel that way. Somehow I can imagine it's not impossible for them to take place in the same world, but I don't really see links between them.

I have no idea... it feels like all the characters could come from the same world. All fantasy critters and such, that would do well in a natural setting... Maybe it's also because your stories often tell a lesson, it feels like they belong to each other.

I could put them all together and call them "Fox's Fables". (...or "Fox' Fables"?)
Best part is that that does sound like it would make sense, yeah.

That sounds nice! I believe you can use both ways of spelling that (weird...)Β

I like it so much! the pose looks great and I like the shading And I think the paper texture goes very well with the drawing. Do you think you are gonna post more digital/digital colored artwork in the future?

I'm pretty proud of the pose, too! Somehow I love drawing the (part)underside of reptilian heads since I get to draw the jawlines. :'D
I might just upload more digitally coloured works in the future, yes! Some of them might end up in my scrapbook rather than my main gallery though, but I do like colouring digitally as it's much more forgiving and much faster. On the other hand, it has not yet captured my heart.

Spin to win?

Well, those blades make for a unique fighting style for sure!Β
And that smug face though.
(And I will never mention paper altough I just did. )

Definitely! They require a lot of spinning though, hopefully the wielder won't get dizzy. xD
(Luckily spirals are also known for their ability not to get dizzy)

Like it's a perfect fit huh? Still, the design is so cool and even if a bit unusual it fits the dragon type so well~

Thank you, I'm pretty happy with the design! I can perfectly imagine them wielding blades like this and it would be badass. xD
