And a little story for you
New year’s eve, a time when all the ponies could party all night and have fun with their friends and family. Not everyone was so happy during this time however. You see, all the loud noises from ponies partying around and the, so terrible firework’s explosion scared all the vulnerable little critters all around the city, even bigger animals too, Henry the bear was always so terrified. I’m not even mentioning how it was so, so cold outside. It’s not surprising that I was just sitting on my bed wrapped in a warm blanket accompanied by an Angel who was sitting next to me, chewing his carrot. That time I took care of most of the animals that lived with me. My cottage is too far away from Ponyville proper to scare my little friends, they were safe here and I had planned to just watch them and relax.

"Do you want some more?" I patted Angel’s head softly. The white bunny just waved his head in approval, his ears adorably waving in excitement - I giggled at his antics, he's just so cute! Someone knocked on the door, startling me a bit. I had to crawl out from under my cozy blanket, I pulled out my hoofs and felt how cold it was in the room. I didn't want the mysterious visitor to freeze outside waiting for me so I clumsily got off the bed and headed for the door. I wasn't prepared for an icy wind attacking my face that sneaked into my home after I unlocked the door. I opened my eyes after a few seconds, the sight surprised me. Rainbow dash was standing at the door, smiling widely. She was wearing a scarf that matched her blue fur and boots.It was a nice surprise. I smiled back at her, "Come inside Dashie."

Rainbow nodded and did just that, "Listen Fluttershy..." She looked at me with her, so beautiful magenta eyes, "...Are you going to do something tonight? We have holidays after all!"

I figured that Rainbow had some plans for today, she wouldn't ask me if she hadn't and I already knew my plans just got changed. I looked away a little from her, "Oh. It's so cold outside so I wanted...uhm...to stay home today." Rainbow questionably looked at me with her head cutely swinging to the side. “I should take care of the animals, and you know I don’t really like all the crowds, noise and fireworks outside.”

Rainbow smiled warmly "Look the unicorns will perform an awesome firework show today! I can guarantee you would like it. I wanted to ask you if you would like to come with me?" She got a little bit closer to me with a cheeky smile adoring her muzzle, "And if you get cold I can keep you warm," she whispered into my ear. I hid behind my name but smiled widely at the implications, it would be so nice to spend a nice evening with Rainbow. I felt Rainbow's wing on my back hugging me tightly. "Come on Flutters, get dressed and let's go. I know you don't really want to spend the evening alone here, your animals can take care of themselves this one time."

I relaxed at the touch of her warm fur adjusted to my back, my wings fluttered a little. Angel seemed excited about the idea too when his delicate foot poked my hoof, pointing his paw into the door. I bit my lip,should I go? Or maybe I could just ask Rainbow to stay with me here. But I couldn't do that, I know it wouldn't be fun for her, especially during new years eve.

“Fluttershyyyy…” I felt Dash gently nibbling on my ear, I could hear the faked annoyance in her voice. “I hope I don’t have to remind you of the butterfly migration aga…”

"Oh alright Dashie, let me get dressed and we can go,” I answered finally, cutting her off.

"Awesome!" Rainbow exclaimed, not hiding the excitement in her voice.

Rainbow sat down in my chair as I stood in the middle of the room for a little while, wondering what to wear. Dash was getting inpatient so I went to the closet for my favorite green scarf and my boots. Few minutes later me and Rainbow Dash left the cottage, sadly Angel couldn't come, Rainbow said the fireworks would surely scare him and it was dark outside, that's dangerous environment for a little bunny so I had to tell him to stay home, I gave him a huge portion of delicious carrots though, I hope he's not mad. We walked side by side. I felt so warm and cozy next to my best friend. I suggested that we could fly into the hill from which Rainbow wanted to see the performance. It also had a great view over Ponyville.

"Nah. It's fine, this time I can slow down," she put a wing over my back again, "Besides...walking like that in a winter evening...is kinda cool," Rainbow said, embarrassed a little but that's alright she knew she could be open with me. I just smiled and nodded. There was a lot of snow, it crunched pleasantly under our hooves, with such a company the cold was just a minor obstacle.

Rainbow stopped and pulled out a jar of fireflies from her purse. "Look, I caught them myself before I dropped by to take you!!" I giggled softly, Rainbow put the jar on the hill while I spread the blanket that we were supposed to sit on.

We sat there in comfortable silence, looking at the city below. The only light source came from the Rainbow’s jar and the lights from the city below. I could feel Rainbow's wing covering my back. I was enjoying the close contact with my childhood friend. I had my head deeply snuggled into her warm coat. I felt just like during the butterfly migration this summer, we sat just like that, enjoying ourselves and the scenery around us. Rainbow wouldn't admit it but she very much liked it just as I did,so wonderful. If only Dashie knew how she makes me feel. Or maybe she knows and she likes it. One day I will ask her. Back there I could just enjoy this moment forever. The unicorns were preparing to start the show. I felt Rainbow snuggling into me closer as well! I just smiled at her and relaxed. Normally she's not up for all this "mushy stuff" as she calls it, but with me it's different, with me she doesn't have to hide behind her ego. We understand each other like no one else. I was glad no one saw us on that hill, Dashie would be so embarrassed. She does so much for me, maybe I should go with her for the next dragon’s migration. One day...One day...
