What a wonderfully cute face. I love the style, please draw more of these! Β

I started writing a critique but then considered that since you didn't ask for one I should probably check first. I can submit one privately, publicly or not at all. Whatever you want, it's your art.

I love the proportions. The jawline and chin is just perfect.Β The mouth has a cute style and shape. It looks well placed with respect to the eyes. It forms an equilateral triangle with the pupils, is that a thing?Β The corners of the mouth needs work rather than be left blurry. The mouth reminds me of CutiePieMarzia, perhaps she could serve as a good reference.

The nose fits well in size and shape with the style. The bridge of the nose has by necessity of the eyes an unusual shape. I think it's a nice interpretation but it's a bit unclear what is part of the nose. I think this is important because the shape and size of the nose signifies maturity. Defining the nasion (had to look that one up) might help.

I love the style of the eyes, very cute yet mature. Though to me it looks like the eyes extends beyond the face. I think it might be corrected by flattening out the shading of the lower eyelid near the edge of the face.

The narrow color palette produces a tint that complements the cuteness and produces an artistic feel. The contrast is a bit low, though mostly in the hair I think. The area that should be in the shadow of the neck seems a bit bright. Her neck has some pink tones that I don't get. The same tones are on her chin but there it looks in place. Did she gorge on some blush? jk

The eye color doesn't work for me. I think it's outside the valid shades of the palette. A color with higher value and/or a hue of violet might work better, a lighter blue or 'amethyst' perhaps.

I prefer the eyebrow color to match the hair color. It makes the color feel genetic rather than artificial. That's just a personal preference though.

What is the blue streak above the eyes? If it defines the eyelid fold it's a bit strong, and blue. If it's some kind of makeup style I think it looks odd but I don't particularly dislike it.

What light is she under? I assume something similar to a photo studio with large white light sources. In that case the penumbra that the hat casts should be more diffuse. If it is the sun the angle would indicate a sunset and the penumbra would be correct but the tint would be more towards orange, I think.

The hat and coat provides nice framing to keep the eyes on the subject. The hair with it's lower level of detail further provides a natural buffer zone to keep the viewers eyes on the face. The locks of hair over her right eye works well in providing asymmetry and makes her feel a bit mysterious. The way it cuts through the pupil looks really nice.

There are some odd cuts around the hat and hair. I assume you just forgot to make them diffuse. The triangle in the upper right corner is just not ok, though I'm not sure how to fix it. Perhaps just making it really diffuse. I think the triangle defines the hat as way bigger than what I have in mind. I would put it much lower and with a nice curve to it. Though that might mess up framing.

Her eyes seem to be directed towards infinity slightly left of the viewer, I think it would be better if she looked directly at the viewer.

----------

Overall a very nice piece and I've enjoyed it a lot. I hope to see something similar in the future and perhaps with a level of detail that I know you are capable of.
I'm not an artist myself and if I said something you disagree with or that was just plain wrong I would be grateful to have that pointed out to me as I'm trying to learn, and I want to be helpful.

You are my newest favorite artist and I hope I pointed out some things that helped you out.

Thanks for the critique. Some things I have to ignore for this piece (just because its based of someone elses character- so keeping the refrence/ also this was just a quick drawing not a finished polished piece)

And heh.. I'm horrible at eyes. I actually have a fear of them and have a lot of issues drawing them right because of it. You made a good point with the nose and I'll definitely look into that. n_n Anyways thanks again for all your thoughts on it- c: knowing what people think is right and wrong always helps with improvement.
