No, it's just from what I can remember this was the team I had on Pokemon Blue when I first played the game. I started playing Pokemon way back when I was little, got my copy of Blue when I was 10 for Christmas and played the game non stop.

Yeah back then, you just used any PokΓ©mon that suits you best even if they weren't the most powerful. Some people are still like that too.

Yeah, today there are a lot of trainers who prefer powerful types and train the ones that have the best stats rather than their faves. I still train the favs I come across or ones I enjoy the most.
