love what a little bit of the Z_Cross does ( I prefer the Z version over the normal cross plugin )
This at the beginning looked more like a campfire, by the time I finished it started to look more like some melted chocolate thing (guess that works too, s'mores anyone?)
noise+epispiral+droste+z_cross= long freaking render time,lol
think it was worth it though

Does certain variations prolong the render time? Never knew that.

yes, cross, zcross, lazysusan, epispiral, and blurs usually cause a long render time and maybe some of the newest plugins. You can tell by how slow the preview updates in the main window compared to not using those variations, Cross or Z_cross gives you the "oily paint" effect like this one

Wow, that's cool. I wish I understood how to work plug-ins more. Some of the things I put together, wind up with no fractal showing on the screen.

The plugins just show up in the blue part at the bottom of the editor they're just not built in and work like the rest of the variations do and some have variables some don't. Like the Epispiral variation has variables, the Fold plugin doesn't.
whenever I lose the fractal I'll right-click on the preview screen and reset location, it changes the scale and brings the fractal back into focus usually.
