Once upon a time I used to thank everyone individually for faves. I don't have time to do that any more, so if you do fave this, thank you very much. It may take awhile but I do try to respond to all comments.

Something that can hardly be described as a fractal - or, it could be, but the term itself wouldn't be quite appropriate to fully express the essence of it. An excellent way of exploring the gnarlic world, Smooth Gnarls voices a strong inclination to searching for a personal way of making art, and also gives a very nice overview to the infinite potential of the fractal universe. While it can be viewed as a ship quietly setting sail for distant oceans, it also shows a smooth silvery tone inviting the viewer to let himself go in the gnarlic quicksands; but a latent vivacity sparkles from the right, the darker zone, like a spoonful of mercury in a metallic melting sea. A great meeting point between minimalism and futurism!

Like the folds of a gently-used bedsheet, or like whispers.

The best gnarls I've seen in a good while!
It's very attractive.

Smooth & sensuous, soft & alluring .... but damn if there's one thing I like it's a minimalistic fractal ! What a beauty Cerenity, you really made this one stand out hon. It just seems to shimmer & somehow glow slightly too. That tone on tone color you used is just gorgeous too. Really hon....outstanding.

I meant to say that if you haven't already, you should read Kat's and Keith's comments on the two I submitted prior to this, "Whimsies" and "Muse of Destruction."

Thank you so much, Lauren. I had fun, worked pretty hard, and learned a lot doing this one. I added a subtle gradient layer so the texture would be visible but not too overpowering which is where the "shimmer" came from.

You did this just with gnarls?
You sure instilled me a curiosity for them, then. I wouldn't have guessed you'd have achieved the shape you wanted that easily. Oh well, you're quite determined it seems. Glad for you!
Huge quote on the "blowing in a breeze". It looks like something unseeable is setting sail to distant lands.

It's mostly done with the "Advanced Gnarl" formula in mt but I did add a couple "Pixel" layers - one for texture and one to brighten the background.

Thanks, Keith. I tried to keep the texture very subtle on this one. Before I learned how to do the frames in UF, I started doing them in RealDraw, I didn't have PS. Now I do know how to do them in UF but I quite like the effects I can get without all the bother.

Fabric blowing in a breeze.

Lenora's image was wonderful inspiration for this very smooth, flowing fractal.

Nicely done!

Thank you, Kat. I have new respect for Lenora's work (and I miss her too) as I found it somewhat difficult to get the gradient to do what I wanted. Perhaps I should have tried different settings on the color density. Overall, I feel that I accomplished what I wanted and am rather pleased with this.
