Updated to 1960x1470 resolution when downloaded


Magnification in a 2D-slice of the four dimensional cubic parameter space using the standard parameterizing z -> z^3 - 3a^2 z + b, critical points z = +a (making the set M+) and z = -a (making the set M-).


*a_real = 0.05
*a_imag = #pixel (horizontal))
*b_real = 0
*b_imag = #pixel (vertical)

Both M+ and M- plotted in separate layers.

No filters or postprocessing.

Wow, I like the explosion of colors and patterns in the left corner, the black empty space in the right corner is a bit off-putting but it's also a good contrast to the color and pattern explosion. If there is something I don't like as much it's how the patterns at the side of the black area are so jam-packed with colors and minimal patterns that it looks a bit out of place.

But this is a fractal where everything turns bigger the more you zoom in and where everything can also become smaller the more you zoom out, so what do I know, eh?
