Thanks for catching that, I think I might actually have made the mistake of rendering it with just an AA of 1... or something. Have to take look at it.

EDIT: The jagged edges is from before PhotoShop and I did actually run it with an AA of 3. Trying a rerender with mitchell netravali AA of 4 now.

with MN filter you can tweak the amount of sharpening ("ringing") interactively (no render restart), and this looks a *lot* better than in post because it has access to the original, supersampled 32bit float colour image data (as opposed to 8bit integer with no supersampling stored in the normal bitmap/png).

I never noticed the extra settings for the MN filter before, will have to play around with them some.
But I just noticed what the image looks like if you zoom in or download it from deviant art and it is not at all what the original looks like that I upload for some reason. And it has a lot of the rings you mentioned... something is wrong

EDIT: Might have fixed it now, must have been some color correction data in the PNG that didn't get transferred when uploaded. Or does it still look strange?

i'm not sure what you mean, but it's essential the image is displayed 1:1, not using deviantart's *terrible* resizing+rejpegging.
