Oscar= Wizard of Oz's first name.
I can't imagine how weird he must feel.... after all, he's got some guy living in his head talking to him, he has memories of said person that he knows he shouldn't have, and he's following his orders to leave home and go out and fight, even meeting a drunk man he's never seen before to ask for "my cane back", speaking for someone he's never met before. (fan theory is that the Wizard of Ozpin's cane is secretly the relic.) Oscar must REALLY feel out-of-place. (but hey, at least the coolest character in existence is always with him! Ozpin is cool on every level!)

this may sound funny, but Oscar reminds me of Luke Skywalker somewhat; hes a farmboy living with his aunt but secretly wishes for greater aspirations and now he is being lead (and probably will be mentored byΒ later) by a some wise ol' wizard that had his body destroyed but now continues to interact with the living realm in some incorporeal form (or in this case through Oscar himself).
