I totally hear you, CP... thanks for the observation... but I don't know that the way my friend colored her legs is all that bad really. I actually liked it a lot... the whole thing... but that was done what feels like a hundred years ago, not sure I will ever re-visit the piece. He and I did the best we could with what he and I knew at the time.

Hopefully the next piece I post will appeal to you more. Thanks again for the shout-out!

Yeah, good point on having her in front of the branches... not sure why I chose to have us look through them at the time, instead of having them behind her. I know there's a joke in there about Magic Wood coming up behind her... but I just can't think of one. (The story had to do with her going to a Magical Enchanted Forest, and get some ...yeah, you guessed it... Wood.)

Right there with you, BUJINKOMIX-- I can't pick just one, so I posted both.

Being a penciler at heart, I generally default to my first love. I always perk up to lineart-- kind of like the DVD extras to a favorite movie. I "see" the various areas in living color while I'm still penciling it. So when I get to actually see all the colors in there... its like, awww yeah! And it fires on all pistons.

The lineart brings me back to that "theater of the mind" place. Where imagination kicks in, to fill-in all the gaps. And it's so rewarding when colors come back even cooler than I could have imagined them. Maybe it's one of the reasons I enjoy collaborating with other artists. Not because I have to, but because I want to.
