Ci sono occhi e occhi, ma questi ti fanno perdere la sensazione del tempo, ti rapiscono, ti fanno innamorare.

I was fortunate to have corresponded with Anne Francis on a project that was blocked by
Dreamworks, when they got wind of it.
Anne was a wonderful gracious person who loved her fans.
God bless Her.
The difference between Madonna the singer and Anne Francis is: Anne is Heaven and the other from Hell.

Interesting story, though I'd have to agree that Madonna probably would have had a right to tell you to eff off; being a big celeb, one probably gets sick of strangers invading one's privacy. Anyway, very groovy Anne Francis drawing.

Wow, I am disappoint. I can't believe you got told off by Madonna! What was she so cranky about? Other than...getting sick of course. I don't know how she thought you were insulting her. Maybe she thinks sick or not she can sing people under the table?

I'm a big Anne Francis/Honey West fan and this is a sweet piece. You really captured her sexyness.

Are you sure you aren't Oates from Hall & Oates?
I'd be honored if one of my favorite musical artists told me to fuck off. My friends would be jealous.

Honey West, one of my first crushes. Yes I was only a young boy, but I knew what a woman was. Honey West was my kind of gal. Thanks for doing a great job blending this together.

Franchesco In reply to Fladam [2011-07-03 02:47:36 +0000 UTC]
See, its funny how if folks call me Frank now, like you just did... I probably wouldn't even turn around. I've gone by Franchesco so long now, that when folks call me anything else, its like they are referring to someone else. I've always been Franchesco... but growing up, not sure why folks had such a hard time pronouncing that name, so they shortened it (without even asking me)... then as the years went by, Frank seemed okay enough... but when I decided to do art for reals... I decided to take my name back... and mark my art with only... Franchesco! Kind of my way of saying ... this, is, ME! The real me.
I recall my Mother (God rest her soul) saying that I should have told Madonna my name was Franchesco, since that's how my art is signed on the T-Shirt, and maybe she had seen the shirt from the night before. But I was on auto pilot at the time, and "Frank" just blurted out, since that is what everyone called me... was that wrong? Maybe yes, maybe no... may not have this great memory from that weekend if I did. Frank you so much for the very kind words about the drawing, FLADAM... I really appreciate it!!
Very nice to meet you, Fransisco!

Fladam In reply to Franchesco [2011-07-04 15:46:31 +0000 UTC]
When I was a child, being called Fransisco was a big joke for the kids at school. I went to five schools in total, and by the fifth I'd had enough of being called Frisco, Sisco, Francesca, Frisky, San Francisco, SanFran, and told everyone my name was Frank, and that's how that stuck. Only in enlightened years did I realise that Fransisco was a unique and beautiful name, it's distinctive spelling 'sisco' not 'cisco' alone made it something of value (to me). Alas, Frank has stuck, but now I tell folks my full name with pride, even though I instinmctively introduce my self as Frank.
Your drawings are very nice Franchesco, and thanks for addressing me as Fransisco with correct spelling

Now this is how you do business. I really dig the way you handled the portrait in the upper right corner- that's a direction I can see you heading in.

An AMAZING story and AMAZING artwork! Now I kind of want a T-shirt that says "Frank you!" lol. I'll definitely be picking up a copy of this book. Are you going to be at SDCC this year?
