Description
Continuing my capstone project with an updated design of one of the creatures, the Rynyx. Let me know what you think!It is a subterranean creature, due to it being subterranean it has completely lost it's eyes instead it uses infrared sensors, similar to a pit viper, to navigate the caverns as well as echo location. The infrared sensors can detect the bioluminescence on other members of it's species, and can serve as a method of communication for them. It also uses long limbs and quills running down it's back to sense it's surroundings.

Very nice! Although bioluminescence generally doesn't give off heat, so it may not be visible to infra red. Perhaps if the glow is caused by another chemical reaction?

Woah, awesome concept! I especially like the hands and the arrangement of their digits, really interesting. Is there a whole between the (ehm) forefinger and middlefinger? Also the name of the species sounds very fitting.

Because it seems quite large and not very "compact" I'd see it living in a damp complex system of huge caves, i guess...

haha thank you! they are part of a student project I started over a year ago, and i am refining the designs from that project. It is called Experiment 18 at the moment, and I have no idea what it might be, it was originally a video game concept, but it's turning more into a world building project
