Haytham sighed, shuffling through the random files he had pulled out earlier. He didn't know how he ended up on the floor in front of the couch, but there he was. The pad of soft footsteps warned him of Ziio's presence.

"What are you doing?"

"Sorting these."

"Seriously? You're working on your birthday?" she chuckled.

Haytham shrugged. He didn't see the problem. His birthday was just another day. "Yes, is that a problem?"

Her weight on the couch behind him caused him to crane his head back. She gave him an expectant look and he lifted his arms, allowing her to rest her legs by his sides. Ziio ran her fingers through his hair. "Yes, it is. You should be relaxing and stuff, not sorting boring lawyer stuff."

Haytham rolled his eyes. "How do you know it's boring?"

Ziio arched a brow. "Oh, I don't know. Maybe it was the way you were sighing every two seconds and looking around the room?"

Haytham furrowed his brows. Damn. He suddenly realized something. "Why are you wearing shorts?" he asked, letting his fingertips graze along the bare skin of her knee.

"I was going to try out that new treadmill we got," she replied, running her fingernails gently across his scalp.

Haytham leaned his head back against her and held back a sigh, closing his eyes. God, he loved it when she did that. Her hand suddenly rested on the side of his face and he could feel the silky strands of her hair on his skin. He opened his eyes to see her face just centimeters away from his.

"So, do you get to do anything special now that you're 30?" she asked, giving him a teasing grin as she nuzzled her nose against his.

Haytham loved it when she got this way. He ignored the feel of her skin and tried to think of a witty answer. "Yes, I get to feel old."

Ziio rolled her eyes and planted a kiss on his forehead. "Well, that's not a bad thing."

Haytham arched a brow. "How is that not a bad thing?"

Ziio smirked. "I happen to like old men," she purred with a wink.

Haytham stiffened and felt his whole body heat up. Dammit, how does she always manage to catch him off guard like that?

Ziio nuzzled him again. "Happy Birthday Mr. UK."

"Thank you Diio."

She laughed and smacked his arm as she got up. "Jerk."

He watched as she sauntered away, pulling her long hair up into a hair tie as she went.

Haytham looked at his paperwork and then back at where she disappeared. He tossed them aside and got up, following her. Perhaps he could talk her into a different sort of exercise...
