Description
You tucked a lock of hair behind your ear as you walked down the street. You were late to your job at your parent's restaurant and you knew you were going to get an earful if you didn't hurry. You burst in and threw your stuff down in the back room. "Dekára!" you hissed as your apron refused to be cooperative. You hurried out as you put your hair up. "_______! You're late!" you sister said out of the corner of her mouth as you walked up to the cash register. "I know! Cover me!" you said as you grabbed some menus and got to work.

You were nervous all morning. The man your father wanted you to meet was coming in today. It will be your first time meeting him and you didn't want to screw up. You were making another pot of coffee as your father walked in with a man behind him. You gulped and tried to get a better look at him. Too many people were in your way though. You walked over with a couple menus and you took a deep breath. "Hello Papa." you said as you set the menus down and kissed his cheek. He smiled at you and gestured to the man, "________, this is Heracules. He's that young man I told you about." You looked and you froze.

He froze as he looked at you too. He had dark brown, shaggy hair and his eyes were leaf green. He blinked a few times before looking away with a blush on his cheeks. You felt your cheeks heat up as well. "Now _______, we both would like the lamb stew today." you father said with a smile. You nodded and basically ran away from the table. You hid in the kitchen. You leaned against the wall, clutching an extra menu to your chest. That was Heracules?! You peered out the little window in the door. He was laughing at something your father said. You smiled. Maybe your father was onto something for once. He usually picked out men you wouldn't even look at.

Your sister suddenly was standing by your side looking out the small window too. "Is that him? He picked out a good one this time!" she said with a wink. You blushed and looked down. "I don't know what he's like though." you mumbled. She laughed and lightly smacked your shoulder. "Papa may not know looks but he knows character. I'm sure he's a good man!" she said reassuringly. You smiled and grabbed the two bowls of lamb stew. You pushed your way out and you set them on the table. "Here you go Papa. Heracules." You smiled and refilled their coffee cups and got back to work.

The number of people started to dwindle and your father beckoned you over. "_______, Heracules is going to take you out to lunch. He'll be waiting once your shift is done." You gulped and nodded. You looked at Heracules out of the corner of your eye. He was blushing and looking away from you again. You smiled and went back to work. Your shift finally ended and you hung up your apron. "Umm, ________, are you ready to go?" a soft voice asked. You jumped and turned to see Heracules. "Oh yes. Just a second." You moved to grab your coat. He grabbed it before you could though and he held it up. You gulped and turned around and let him help you.

"Thank you." you said quietly. You never had a man do that for you before. "You're welcome." he said as he turned to walk out. You pulled your coat around yourself and followed him out. "So, where do you want to go?" he asked. You thought about it. "There's a little café I like about four blocks from here." you said quietly. He nodded and started to walk beside you. "So, Heracules, how did you meet my father?" you asked a few awkward moments later. "My mother met him and they set us up." he said with a small smile on his lips. You grinned and shook your head. Of course your father schemed with another parent for this.

"So, what do you do?" you asked. "I'm a veterinarian at the clinic just west of here." he said as he pointed west. You nodded and asked, "So, you like animals?" You mentally kicked yourself. Of course he likes animals! He's a vet! He nodded and said, "Yeah, but I like cats the most though." You perked up. You loved cats too! "Really? I love cats!" you said. He looked at you in surprise. "Do you have one?" You nodded. "A little white one. She's so cute." You smiled as you thought of your little Angel-sometimes devil at home.
"I have three." he said. You talked about each other's cats on the way over to the café.

You walked in and you ordered a small coffee and a salad. You moved to pay for your food. His hand touched your wrist. "I got it." he said. "A-are you sure?" you stammered. You hated it when people payed for you. He smiled and nodded. You grinned and took your food to a small table by the big window. He followed you. You both sat in silence as you ate. He broke it. "_______, to tell the truth I thought this was going to be a disaster. My mother always introduced me to girls that I had nothing in common with but," he looked up at you and smiled, "I think this is the exception though."

You grinned and said, "My papa is the same. He finds boys I wouldn't give the time of day to most of the time." He laughed. "Well, do you want to have dinner tomorrow and see if they were right for once?" You looked at him in surprise. He came off quiet and shy to you. You surprise turned into amusement when he looked away and blushed. You smiled. "I'd love to." He looked back at you and grinned.

Yes, you thought your father hit a bull's-eye with this guy.
