This is beautiful.
I love how the brown tones in the butterfly's edged wings are the same brown tones in the background. The blurred background really helps for the butterfly and flower to stand out, and the viewer knows exactly what the subject is-excellent work.

Very nice! I have the canon 450 d with the same lens and have a habit of doing the same for my macros instead of using the macro setting on a 18-55. How do you achieve that level of focus on the entire butterfly? I seem to get it only in certain areas. Maybe it is because of the harsh noon sun.

It's not focussed on the entire butterfly, the dept of field is perhaps half an centimetre here. I achieve this by apodizing, provided that sufficient light is available.
