The first of eight paintings for Mermay 2018 featuring characters from a larger project of mine currently in development, though this is the only one I managed to actually finish before May was over.

Here's Lydian, the youthful and talented musician to the royal court of the Gilded Kingdom. A gifted composer, he has aspirations to one day sing in the choir himself, but feels his singing voice could never compare to the enchanting vocals of the sirens who perform for land and sea creatures alike. Someone please protect this boy.
