Description I had to jump through god knows how many hoops to get this pic. The people in the store were nearly trying to throw me out due to the camera slung around my neck and the fact I wanted to take a picture of this gorgeous instrument. It wasn't until I was able to get a word in to explain that I was a student that they calmed down. Even then they were more than a little cold.

Also come to find out my friend Drew (who was with me) had slighted some of the employees working there in the past. Thanks, Drew.

Still, the hassle was well worth it. I love old things like this. They show so much character. Every nick, scratch, dent, crack and splinter has a story behind it.

Just curious, is it film?

Yes. 35mm B&W.

All my black and white stuff are from my first class, where we we required to use film. I prolly need to go back and clean this one up in photoshop. There's scratches and you can see the specks from where dust got into my lens.

I'm in a tafe course and we had to do film stuff first up too. I loved it; but digital is a lot easier i think.

I don't care how many times someone explains to me the chemical process in how the film develops... There's something magical about watching the picture "appear" before your eyes.

Tho agreed, digital is sooo much easier...

Wonderful photo. I love black and white photos, keep it up! Yes I am sure it was well worth it. You know my violin is probably older than me and sometimes I do wonder how it got some of the scratches and dints.

incredible gallery - black and white photos say just as much if not more with out color

you make the violin look so desireable, and to me thats very hard to find that instrument as - its so hard!

Yeah, not much love for the classics anymore. And thank you! As a beginning student still, those words mean a lot.

- its true in a weird way though -- you would think when a picture lacks such a large element to the photo (color), that it would degrade the pictures meaning, or message, because color says alot -- but if you take a composition interesting enough, you can compinsate for the lack of color, and make it more intriguing then it would be with color! - so you did that!^_^
