Description Aw man. You don't know how much I love this beautiful, talented, lovely and amazing person. She's so incredible she made me start drawing women (i would start at some point but) because I JUST WANTED TO DRAW HER.

So this is her as Althea, from the musical The Light Princess.

She is my favourite female singer and the weird thing is that her fiancee is my favourite male singer so................ yeah. Basically the perfect couple to my ears (and eyes). I wish there were more songs/musicals/recordings with her ESPECIALLY of her original songs, because her voice and her everything is just perfect, I can't even describe.

She even answered me in my last drawing featuring her!

Can't wait for City of Angels.

It's her lovely day, so c'mon. Listen and watch this amazing trailer of her latest musical The Light Princess: www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3JlmP…

I adore that woman! Lucky you with COA tickets I didn't manage to get mine. I saw she is going to Chichester this summer to play in 2 shows.

Oh man, me too! And no luck for me, I couldn't get tickets for CoA, I'm excited for the production itself and MAYBE a ticket in the future who knows
Indeed, are you going? I wish I could go in every show of hers, ugh.

There is always hope for CoA, fingers crossed!
I may go to Chichester (never been there, it's not far from London) if I get the time

There aren't many things I regret in life but seeing The Light Princess is one of them. I mean seeing it only ONCE

And I also hope you get to go there! I regret not being born in the UK. HAHAHAH

Thank you so so much, Erin!! I really spent some time coloring it (and making it light), so happy it was worth it! Awwww, glad you liked her expression, gotta love expressions when it's about drawing! <3

It really is gorgeous! I wish I had a tablet to do some digital colouring. (I am so over watercolouring right now!) It is a beautiful little piece. I especially love the detail you've one into for her top and the harness, so many people would have ignored it!

Aw!! Ta very very much!! I can guarantee money spent on a digital tablet is the best spent money in life. Go for it when you have the chance! Can you do it with real watercolors?

I LOOOOVE details in drawings even though I think I could work more on them, it's almost like they give life and personality to it, and features more visible things so people can really recognize what's on the pic. And of course, c'mon, her outfit is GLORIOUS there, couldn't ignore it even if I wanted to. HAHAH

If I'm going to colour something properly and take the time with it, I usually ink, watercolour, then go over some details/shading with colour pencils, and ink again. It's lengthy and a lot of room for error.

Some styles suit the more simple look, but, details are what bring out the quirk and life, really. I definitely need to work on detail and background, I'm very lazy. ^^' But your picture's really balanced! It's not so much detail that it's too busy, and just enought to draw your eye, and then have fun exploring the image. And I've looked through your gallery a few times, and seen your pics on facebook, and it's also amazing to see how you've come along and made the style your own. Really looking forward to seeing more.
And yeah, I loved The Light Princess for many reasons. The costumes being one. I was very lucky and saw them a few times, and they're gorgeous. And Althea's outfit was just plain cute!

I tried once to color with actual paint but oh god that was messy, and I messed my drawing. But the process and all was fun, maybe it's worth it. HAHAH I'm a total idiot with color pencils, really. It's sad.

Yeah! It really depends like on what are you going to detail. Simple drawings tho have their own details, but in a controlled or subtle way, maybe. I gotta start doing actual backgrounds, interactive ones as well, but lazyness is just the way I roll.

And awww! It makes me so happy you went through my gallery a few times (hopefully I didn't do anything bad to your vision HAHAH). Did you see them on Hadley's fanpage? I have no idea how I reached that style, I was too obsessed in not copying to find my way, and it seems I didn't even realized I may be in the right path.

I'm so jealous you could see The Light Princess! I can't wait for the cast recording, it may clear my mind and fill with details so I can draw something about it! It kills me not being able to understand everything of the play, it seemed so magical and floaty. :/

I wish I was more skilled, and could paint properly. Maybe I can have the time and resources to have a proper play around one day.
I honestly have nothing fancy. Drawing for me is just something to ease boredom. I make do with some cheap HBs and a pack of 36 crayola!

I am so lazy with backgrounds, I'm terrible. To be honest, I'm not even one to usually finish a sketch or composition! You're a lot better than me! And not at all, chicken. It'd be very hard for anyone to do anything 'bad', and you certainly haven't, by a long way! And yes, I have. I don't frequent it often, but I have seen your work there.
And that's amazing! I worry I'm too influenced by others, but, I try to make things my own. My chibis are definitely mine though, and think that at least shows. I hope, at any rate!
I am not experienced to have any opinion but my own subjective one on what I find aesthetically pleasing, but, your work is that. So I'd say you are definitely on the right track! Especially since you are so obsessed with making things your own.

I am very lucky, I went quite a few times... A lot... More than a lot.
The soundtrack will probably clear something up, but the show was so beautiful and magical in it's own right, it's sad to know people can't just see it. The design was gorgeous, it was like being in a fairytale book!

Don't say you don't paint properly because I'm still wowy with that chibi!Althea skirt. Holy cow, you paint with Crayola? RESPECT. I've got some Copics but it doesn't really matter when you suck at painting.

I really feel you, that's why I love the textures on SAI, they make the BGs look like you're ok. It's so funny to see some of my drawings fill their fanart folder, I feel guilty, oops. And oh hell yeah, your chibis are yours yooours indeed, I remember seeing the little Arwen when I came to search some nice arts about Rosie!

I was already happy with those songs they recorded, the cast recording was like someone stabbed me with love. (creepy) I was wondering if they're gonna use the same recordings to put in the album...

Pepsi-Tardis In reply to frarofa [2014-06-10 12:07:43 +0000 UTC]

It's not all watercolour though! And my watercolours are a set of Windsor and Newton, I think. Then just use regular crayola pencils for added detail. And I doubt you suk at painting at all! I'd loe a st of copics but they're so expensive!!

You shouldn't feel guilty at all! Your work deserves to be there, more than most.
And yay! There's not that much art for Rosie about, sadly. Think I probably make up half the tag!

I think they're going to redo them, if I'm honest. I knew the album was definite before the announcement, so was glad when it finally came out! Orchestrations and some of the vocals are down, they're just having to obviously work around actors schedules.

frarofa In reply to Pepsi-Tardis [2014-06-12 16:44:23 +0000 UTC]

Oh boy I gotta note that somewhere. HAHAH, so awesome. I should show you a painting of mine so you can see how bad I am at it. Copics are SO expensive indeed, I want to buy more of them but ha ha ha.

Aw! Thank you again! Be careful though, I might feel like doing more and more and filling the folder even more.
Sad indeed, but hey, you're there! And I've got one or two. And I bet more people are coming. C'mon, it's Rosie.

Redo them? Wow, go for it, although I don't see really why should you, they're perfect. But there're some drawings I wish I had the guts to redo. Did you? Good lord I was so sad about the four songs thinking that was it and only that. HAHAH Just knowing that it's gonna be for realz makes me really happy. *-*

Pepsi-Tardis In reply to frarofa [2014-06-12 17:05:53 +0000 UTC]

I'd love to see your paintings! And I am sure it is not nearly as bad as you are trying to make out. You've got a real talent and excellent eye, so there's no way it can be bad. Yeah, the problem with art supplies! And with me, I always feel I 'need' other things more. ...Like theatre tickets. ...And cake.

Go right ahead! It makes you happy, and obviously brings a lot of others joy.
We can work together to fill the tag!

Well the four for soundcloud aren't acted, and I think they might try to do more with them. I'm just assuming they're doing it all fresh! And for sure, I'm over the moon and just wish it was out now! (Or the show was on still, but, there we go.)

frarofa In reply to Pepsi-Tardis [2014-06-13 18:20:27 +0000 UTC]

Oh dear, no you don't. HAHAH And they're not even old, so awgh. I'll send you by DM or something on twitter, but I don't mean to burn your eyes! And thank you, you and your lovely words!

Art supplies for me were always a pencil and an eraser, but after some time you discover thing and jesus christ I didn't sign for this. I agree with you, in my case would be movie tickets because just thinking in going to theatre makes me cry.

Filling the tag is totally a goal now. HAHAH

OH, they weren't acted? It looked like it was like in Amphibiava and Althea. Oh god, a new version is all I ask for! Love having lots of versions of a single song, you can imagine my Hadley/Rosie playlist by knowing that, oops. Gosh, can't wait to buy it.

Just being truthful, chick!
I wish I could work digitally though. It just looks more professional, and people are much happier to look at and buy it, I think. It looks a lot cleaner, too. Both in the aesthetic sense, and creation wise...
See for me, the bus and a cinema ticket is about the same as the train and a ticket to something at the National! It's a bit silly!

Let's DO IT!

Well, they were, but not to the extent of a performance. Take the beginning of 'Althea', it's all quite conversational and pretty neutral. Whilst in the show it obviously had higher stakes and more emotion running through it. (Althea, for one, was feisty as anything.)
I can imagine! I tend to find one good version, and stick to that.

You're too kind!
You should give it a go. It does look more professional and all, I agree 100% with you but lots of people say "digital art isn't real art, the computer does everything for you" which is really outrageous.
And the same??????? Can I move there already?

Oh right. Yeah, totally! Also, living the scene on stage would be more emotional for obvious reasons and gee I can't even imagine how awesome it was.
I do the one good version thing as well but they're weird, each version of their songs seem so unique and all so yay, I'm pretty creepy, let me tell you.

Pepsi-Tardis In reply to frarofa [2014-06-20 14:33:46 +0000 UTC]

The only possible thing I can think of is the fact digital you can erase and undo, which unless you're working in pencil or a paint you can go-over with, isn't really an option with traditional media. he process is stull virtually the same. Select brushes, colours, still have to map things out and then build it up. :/

Very awesome. Hopefully it'll be back one day and you can see it. (There's talks of  Broadway version but I'm unsure how that'll pan out, personally.)
I doubt you are creepy at all, Ana!

Indeed! Everything seems pretty much easy with the computer but hey, it's not like that at all. There's the whole process with it and ugh.

Oh I can't wait for it. I can't wait for everything. I've heard about the Broadway version, do you think Rosie would do it as well?
You have no idea how creepy I am, lovely Erin. HAHAHAH

I would just LOVE to try it. I'm always so annoyed how smudged or sketchy or untidy my work is, and how weak or patchy the colouring is. And I think the chibis especially would benefit from having a much cleaner and bolder image... Ho-hum.

I'm not sure if they'd take the same creatives over there, or cast. I have no idea what they'd all want to do but I think family life comes first and some might not want to up sticks and go so far away for such a long time.
And no, you're really not bab!

frarofa In reply to Pepsi-Tardis [2014-06-26 13:00:39 +0000 UTC]

GIVE IT A GO! But I don't think it's easy to compare digital to traditional works. Also some scanners kill the pics. Do you have a tablet?
And digital chibis are really really loved sooooooooooooo imagine you doing your amazing chibis digitally!

Yeah 100% agreed. I don't know too if it's coming to Broadway soon...

Pepsi-Tardis In reply to frarofa [2014-11-15 16:52:26 +0000 UTC]

oh not at all! like I said, they're both different and demand different things. It's like saying because you do mountain biking, you'd be excellent at track races and things.
I don't have a tablet, sadly. So I haven't got the option of digital work. And at the minute my money is being poured into living anf my course. Ew.
I really would love to try them digitally! Save glorified fingerpainting on Vicki's ipad when I have sneaked it to speedily draw something whilst she showered or something, I've never had digital ones!
