Phew... finally finished!

I can't stop saying "Cyute, cyute, cyute~!" XD
It's if I'm like Spain, or someone like him in APH.
But this is so cute!

This was made from the rough sketch (which was drawn on tracing paper, which isn't the best thing to do XD ) for the last panel of my series/storyboard assignment for Illustration class.

The basic idea of the story is a cute little brother (Doistu/Ludwig) trying to reach an apple dangling on the end of a branch; since he can't reach it, he starts crying out of frustration.
His big brother (Prussia/Gilbert) has been watching him from a distance, and comes over to lift up his little brother up.
The little brother is at first shocked from being lifted up from behind, but immediately becomes overjoyed now that he's able to pick apples thanks to his older brother.

Now it's trying to figure out how am I going to put the whole storyboard together, and how am I going post it up once it's done (the illustration board I'm using is 15" x 19.5" and my scanner can only scan 8.5" x 11.5" ).
We'll see... I'll just have to scan it in sections like my last Illustration project Brothers In Arms and risk the crappy quality of it.

There's a shroud of mystery about Germany's 'childhood' in APH.
Based on what history dictates, Holy Roman Empire pretty much dissolved and became many separate countries: Czech Republic, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Austria, and of course, Germany (other parts of the HRE were North Italy, East France, West Poland, and East Prussia).
What I think is that Germany may actually be HRE's son adopted by Prussia (just like how England adopted America as his little brother - and talk about parallels, Prussia fought Austria to be Doistu's big brother XD ), but of course the creator of APH hasn't made it 100% clear about this subject (I read somewhere that he had scrapped a script where France informs Italy of HRE's death, but I don't know if that's true or not).

Yes... cute lil' Ludwig/Germany is wearing pink!
(I've probably mentioned it a million times before, but prior to the 1940-50s/WW2 period, pink was for boys and blue was for girls; pink was considered masculine because it's a lighter shade of red, while blue represented beauty, tranquility, and possibly the purity of the Virgin Mary - all traits girl were expected to have; after WW2, they switched the colors to what they are today for no apparent reason XD ).
And to match, Gilbert/Prussia is wearing a dusty baby blue shirt. XD
It kinda reflects their eye colors, except it's reversed - well, there are some official pics of Prussia having blue eyes instead of amber/red-brown (with yellow/golden blond hair just like Germany's).

The apples turned out so perfect - it's almost as if you can pick them yourself and eat them (I hadn't been able to eat apples since I got braces on - just imagining the taste of apples is making me hungry XD ).

The frame part was quite tedious to make: I had to use the Custom Shape tool, and make multiple copies of the shape layer to make the apple branches and the brothers come out from the inside.
I also had to use the Magic Wand tool to add in the textured brown part outside, which was a bit time consuming.
But it turned out nice in the end after playing around with the layering blending modes.

The background inside the frame is actually a random clip art pic of apple trees - I just blurred and enhanced the coloring a bit.

There's so many things I have to do and plan to do (like drawing a pic for that 'Dream' contest dA has out, just like last time with the 'Good vs. Evil' one).
