Aw... why do some of my favorite teams have to battle it out against each other?!
In case you don't know, my favorite teams for this World Cup are:
USA
Germany
England
Netherlands
Spain
Japan
My least favorite team is Italy - who is OUT!
I'm not a big fan of Brazil either, but I don't hate them that much.
France was a favorite, but mein Gott they're a joke this time around - they've been pretty much going downhill since the last World Cup, and the team going on 'Strike' and crap...
(France is pretty much a 'Meh' country since he's surrendered and lost to many battles in the past
).But at least it's not USA versus Germany - I'd be so crying in a dark corner because I like both teams, and most of the people I know here in dA are German and I'm American... it wouldn't be pretty.
Anyway, the Ghana versus USA should be an interesting match since it was Ghana who kicked USA out of the World Cup last time, and Ghana being the only and last African team in the tournament...
But I'm American, so GO TEAM USA!
As for Germany versus England... *sigh*
I won't be able to watch the match when it happens due to important stuff, so it's going to be watching the Mexican Channel (I can't understand much Spanish and have to deal with 2 minute-long 'GOOAAAAAL's so I won't be enjoying the game as much) or ESPN for the replay - that's if they replay it.
Well... that's all I have to say for now.

Whaaa~ USA did loose to Ghana again - with the same score 2-1!
(I kinda sensed a bad omen about the match anyway because my left ear is acting all weird; they also said Ghana had a 51% chance of winning
And Germany vs. England - I really like both teams so I'm kinda still crying in a dark corner right now...
They say England's got a 54% chance of winning, but Germany has the the highest average of making Penalty Kicks (England has the lowest average - pretty funny that the two are going at each other with such stats
We'll just have to wait and see...

Honestly I would love a US vs. Germany Match. But I would be a horrible person and root for Germany... I did that during the Olympics as well. Nicely drawn though!

*sigh* Ja, they did... just like last time, the score was 2-1, but with Overtime - the first time ever for Team USA.

Okay... maybe I should try to explain how it works in the Knock Out Rounds:
*Each match is 90 minutes long with each half being 45 minutes (give or take 3+ minutes; you probably also noticed that the teams switch sides at the end of the 1st half).
*If no Goals are made or if it's a Draw within the 90-minute limit, it goes into 30-minute Extra Time (they also switch sides as if it's an actual full-timed match after 1 half [15 minutes] is done).
*If there is still no Goals scores or it's still a Draw after Extra Time, it goes into Penalty Shoot Out where the teams gets 5 penalty kicks each (I believe they alternate turns when kicking, but this doesn't happen that often).
So to answer the question "Who got Overtime?", both teams get the extra time.
For Team USA, this was the 1st time they ever gone through an Extra Time/Overtime session in Soccer/Football History.

i guess since now your team didn't even made it through the testgames XD (or whatever it's called xD)

Well, that depends on where you live.
In the Eastern Coast of USA, it'll be this Sunday @ 9:30 in the morning.
Here in California and the Western Coast of USA, it'll be @ 7:30 AM since there's a 2-3 hour difference (some states don't do Daylight's Savings, like Arizona).
So if there's a 8-10 hour difference between here and Germany... well, I'm sure you can figure that out.
