Yay! I did a tutorial by request ;D
Sooo... I hope, this will be helpful to some of you and I don't think it's important with wich program you draw because this goes with everything ;D Well, I guess
So let's start:
1) Start on a transparent layer (Modus: Normal). Just draw the shape of the eye. That's my favorite style but you can do it however you want. On the bottom I tried some different styles
2) Now add the details like lashes, the eyebrow and this fold over the eye.
3) Create a new transparent layer (Modus: Normal) and put it under the shape-layer. Now draw the iris with your base color. Try to make it as round and big as possible.
4) I'm not a huge fan of many layers so I draw the iris on one layer only. But if you feel comfortable with single layers for every step, it's okay, too ^^
First of all lock the transparency (omg, I hope you'll understand this Dx). Choose a darker color and draw this weird nameless thing like I did Then pick black, fill the upper part with it and smudge the black and dark color.
The base color and the dark part should be divided clearly.
5) In this step I just drew some weird lines with a darker and a little bit brighter color. Also I darkened up the edge of the eye to make it look more three-dimensional.
6) Choose a smooth white brush with opacity between 20 - 30 % and draw this light area. You can add some more lines (like you did in 5) with the white brush if you want. It will look more shiny
Also draw this in the darkened area and smuge one side of it. But only one! So it has a smooth side and a hard one.
Add the shadows in the white part of the eye. Don't use grey but something like a blue-grey-don'tknowwhatcolor
7) My favorite part: Light reflections *_* I love to overdo it but I totally adore this shiny effect. Of course one or two white reflections could be enough, too. Just draw them like you want it ;D

And sooo.. yeah! You're finished! YAY! °u°
