In the halloween tutorial I talken about How important the eyes are. So I wanted to show you. This drawing is almost Only an eye. But you instantly see WHO it is. Most of the other parts are in shadow because they are not important and it saves time. This technique is called  en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiaro…

The tools:
2B Mechanical pencil for grids and outlines
6B-9B Cretacolor Monolith Graphite Pencils
graphite stick
A package of erasers sharpened in all different shapes
and eraser pen
Blender and cotton sticks.

Took Around 4-5 hours to complete.

This is great!  I understand completely about all the energy going into the one eye and the rest blending beyond that.  I did my first one like that a couple of weeks ago and really love how you can recognize someone by just one detailed eye and a small bit of recognizable features.  .
