Description Lad and Lass, hand in hand,
Wander dreaming land
On solstice night,
When there be no light
Till the spiralling lark sing warn,
That the sun creeps up to declare the morn.
Linking silken sound of song,
And their people sing along.
These dreamers and their music love
And voice as angles of above.
For during darkness they are free,
But as the dawn comes, away they flee.
Next year the night is just the same,
They continue in laughing game.
The lady lass would give a sigh
To the evening breeze and, by and by,
The lonely lad would come with care,
And deep, deep dreams they will share.
The wounds of the earth, together they heal,
And with a heartfelt kiss they seal
Their love for their mother, vast.
For every year for years gone past
They gaze upon her being reborn,
Upon that magick, midsummer's morn.
And when their mother again does wake,
The oceans swirl and mountains quake.
These free woodlanders each
Do, to their newborn young ones, teach
To keep in silence their fair ways,
Till their great mother's dieing days.
For in solace of their own they choose to live,
And to all others they do give
Dreams, on nights of the darkest kind,
And are one with our own mind.
So in the blackest nights when all does seem
To be unkind, they'll send us dream.
This Queen and King
Of elfin kin,
Enchanted spirits of whispering wood,
Will do all they can and all it would
Take to make our days seem not too long,
And so fill our minds with blissful song.
Distant voices on evening still
Can be heard in wood and hill.
For this Lad and Lass, so sweet,
Which you may hear, but will never meet,
Are lovers on these moon kissed nights,
And glory song reach glory heights.
So be sure to thank this Lady and Lord
Who are our guardians, and rest assured
That they keep us safe till the morn,
When our mother earth's reborn.

~

They wonder dreaming land,
This Lad and Lass, hand in hand...
