Flat, one-point perspective, with heavily striated structures, Baroque figures standing within, and a chiaroscuro defined by long, black shadows behind everything.

De Chirico perfectly conveys the sensation of being in the Unworld, that meaning an experience which doesn't quite feel real, because it is simply too real to be such. I have a memory of standing in the neighborhood of my parents' house, looking up a tree, and feeling how blue the sky was and how cold the air was, only to resolve that this was the exact experience being conveyed by the first Surrealists.

I want to convey that feeling of the Unworld here.
