I really like the lighting on this one, it makes the flower look more "alive".

The neighborhood is filled with blossoms for 4 or 5 blocks, some darker than others and these are my favorite I think. I was lucky to capture it on an overcast day, my favorite day to take pictures.

It really is interesting how the natural light makes such a difference! I think too bright sunlight has a tendency to wash out some colours, especially delicate, light ones like the sakura flowers.

Exactly! I find that to be with most anything I want to photograph. I suppose being photo sensitive has something to do with it too, liking overcast as opposed to bright and sunny.

Definitely! I have to wear sunglasses pretty much all summer long. This is entirely my own fault, since for most of my life I wore those transitioning glasses, and now that I wear contacts my poor eyes don't like the sun anymore.
