I remember your artwork from NFA years ago, what happened? you used to seem to be able to draw a whole lot more variety. You used to draw furries and all sorts of things and now your art is just headshots of DBZ characters/fancharacters, it's almost like you unimproved over time. Or you got incredibly lazy.

I have quite a few suggestions actually, recently I took you off my devwatch because I got sick of seeing so many uploads by you which all looked the same - almost every piece of art in your entire gallery is a generic-DBZ-style-headshot-in-pencil. In a gallery containing 106 things, only 10 of them are NOT headshots, every other thing looks the same as the last, it's like you discovered you can draw headshots and now you will draw nothing but. If you don't practice drawing full body poses and experimenting with angles and anatomy then you will never improve or get the comments and pageviews you seem to crave so badly.
This sadly makes your gallery very very boring to look at. Combine this with the extremely poor scan quality of all your art. If you have any art package use it to clean up your drawings. By cleaning up I mean making the paper white rather than that gritty grey colour, edit out the smudges, upload sketches and doodles that are on lined paper to your scraps section because it makes your gallery look messy.
Thats all I can say as a whole. If I were to critique images on their own then I would surely have a lot more things to point out and since I've just noticed that some of your pictures have "critique welcome" on them, I shall go and do that right now.

Buy bigger paper? then again if all you ever want to draw is the same thing over and over again then I wish you the best of luck in making a living out of drawing anime headshots

Common misconception that NFA was all about furries which it wasn't. It was for any kind of artwork, it just happened that the majority of people on there had furry characters because they were Sonic the Hedgehog fans. Cast your memory back - I personally had a human character as did a few others.

Well done! you've told me the complete obvious about how you get your art from paper to the PC but you failed to answer as to whether or not you have any image editing software. Shall I just assume you don't?

It's an art community, you will get good comments and you will get bad comments and you will get people critiquing you. A critique is not a bad comment, it's merely someone pointing out what you did wrong and where you could improve. People become better artists because of critiques, they realise their flaws and fix them. Most people are mature enough to take criticism but if you wish to believe your art is the most perfect thing ever then feel free, just know that not everyone thinks the same way you do.

I'm sorry you find it depressing that I like to help people make their art better! But you're right, you didn't say your art is perfect, but you did say it rules which implies that it's something amazing and spectacular. Which I'm sorry to say it isn't at the moment. I see a lot of room for improvement - you have potential and I find it sad when people squander their ability to draw by drawing the same things, making the same errors and not listening to advice and striving to improve.
And since you left 2 replies to my last comment, I'll save your time and just reply to them both here.
Jer, Don't call me Ary. Ary is not my name. It was an alias I went by years and years ago and no longer do.
There is "no need" to quote you in responses but it just makes life easier - it's easier for you to read so you know what I'm responding to and its easier for me to write because I don't have to write reams of stuff like I'm doing here just to explain one little point. When I have the statement in question quoted in my reply it just makes my life easier, a lot of people do it - it makes sense to us. Maybe you don't like seeing your own words sent back to you for some reason? :l
We're all here to display art, that's why the site is called DeviantART :] But you can't pick and choose your comments I'm afraid - there is no rule on here saying that criticism is banned, in fact it's encouraged. If everyone left brainless comments like "omg cool *humps this piece* lol

You drew? Perhaps you are mistaken, you certainly couldn't have drawn it because you claim that you're not Jer and Jer drew that picture years ago. It's not nice to take credit for someone elses work, y'know. Unless you really are Jer, which would beg the question, why did you deny it?
