Taken while on the way back from NYC last September...think I took maybe 30 shots out the window! This one had to be vertical because the Moon was visible (near the top/center) and it just looked amazing against that deep blue sky. There's also a horizontal version, sans Moon, that looks great as wallpaper so that'll probably be submitted nextI would like to thank Mr. Tom Gehrke for his nifty noise cleanup Photoshop action [link] because it helped to remove some rough pixelage (is that a word?) within the sky's gradient--give it a try!
As a side note...I'm a Moon freak and wanted to be an astronaut back when they were still doing Apollo missions in the 70's, so this is the closest one can get right now

This is such a beautiful scene! I love seeing the moon in the darker part of the sky, and how the blue gradually becomes lighter until it is joined by those puffy clouds. The bit of airplane in the corner is a perfect touch. Another superb capture!

Wowzers, you managed another stunner here for sure. I smiled when I thought of the shots on top of the skyscrapers, you just keep on getting higher. Amazing gradients and the clouds are wonderfully fluffy.

I really like the way this pic turned out.. it's so crisp and clear, and the colors are so vibrant. The angle is great also, even though it's crooked. I think it's very nice that you didn't get too much of the plane in the photo..

I wish they made the windows in airplanes bigger, or to have a better field of view, so you can at least watch the engine spinning. It also would help if airlines wern't redesigning the seating layouts here and there making it impossible to see out of a window while sitting in a window seat...

This is cool. I've never shot out of an aeroplane, though I have often wondered about it sitting next to the window on countless flights over the last few years.
The moon is awesome, I as a kid was never able to have the extra bit of spice to the dream of going to the moon as we never had a space program back home...

man this is wicked!!! from darkness of space to the brightness of the clouds below and a deep blue in between.... spectacular!!
seeing as there are no refelections from the those annoying multilayed aeroplane windows, i can only assume one of two things:
1. you were in the ultra upper-class section where you have windows you can open.
2. you were outside on one of those "the wing is the designated smoking area and if you can light it you can smoke it" smoke breaks.

I wonder why the engine cowling has that stain on it?
The scale again is so good, from the rivets in the engine pod, to the clouds, and through to the moon... wow. The colour of the sky is just magnificent.

Interpretation/Review: Looking out on the side looking down and wondering how the people are doing, then it's kind of ironic when you're down there you always look up and wonder how it feels like to see the clouds up close and personal. The forms is beautiful reflecting from the sun, and the atmosphere divided from the horizon of earth and space, where you surfing through it in the between.
Pros/Cons/Suggestions: Great shot, good work.
