This is 4 of 4 illustrations I'm doing as a final project in my Adv. Illustration class. Each of the illustrations portrays a creature I created.Thats a big fish....
I've been trying some new techniques with all of these illustrations, I don't know if I'm happy with it all or not.

I always imagine it as a fire breathing water dragon- from the description in Job.

OY!
An interesting piece that again isn't earth shaking (at least not to me.) Kind of a modern day rendition of the giant serpent at the edge of the world illustrations... one doesn't quite get the great point until one realizes that frieghter has the same lines as an oil tanker - even if it is just the super sized frieght hauler, it's gotta be huge. Which means fishy is... ginormous!
Any how, there are a lot of neat effects in sky and sea, but my favorite details in this are the super sized barnacle growths on the leviathan. Very nice touch.
