You ran, ran, ran and it was as if the distance between you wouldn’t get smaller. You wanted to look back and see what exactly was that thing you were running away from, but you couldn’t. You were terrified. If you’d look back now, you’d be killed. You would stop and be unable to do anything else besides watch as death came nearer.

You heard as some people around you screamed for their lives. Well, at least those who were still alive. Among all those screams, there was a louder one. A painful one. And in a fraction of seconds blood was falling on the ground, just in front of you. You almost stopped. You gave your all not to do so.

One more died. One more had been eaten by them.

If possible, your eyes widen even more. ’I’m scared. I’m scared! I don’t want to die!’ you mentally shouted, clenching your fists and making your legs move faster. Tears rolled down your face, despair taking control over you. You didn’t want to die! You couldn’t die just like that! Devoured by those creatures!

You swallowed hard and shook your head. No time to think about it. No time to do anything else but run. You had to reach the port, it was your only chance to get out of there. You promised them you would. You promised your mother and father.

By this thought you did everything you shouldn’t. You stopped.

Father.

Mother.

“__________!! RUN!!” she desperately screamed.
“PROMISE ME YOU WILL GET TO THE PORT!!”
“B-but…! Mama! What a-about you two??” you cried.
“JUST GO, ________!!” she shouted again, crying either.
“But-!”
“________! Listen to your mother and go!!” your father said.
“Papa-!”
“AND DON’T STOPP RUNNING!!”

You held your head between your hands. Why were you remembering this now? From all moments why now? ‘Come on, ________! Move yourself!’ There wasn’t time to daydream. There was no TIME!! You tried to move, but your legs were too heavy. You were truly horrified. So scared about everything that just happened that once you stopped, you couldn’t do anything more. Where were your parents? What happened to them? Why did they act as if they knew exactly what was going on?

You closed your eyes, confused. And every second you kept still, those enormous things came nearer, ready to eat you. Every second wasted was another chance for them to get you. You heard as a foot stepped just next to you. A five meters long foot. You opened your eyes and looked up, the tears still falling form your (e/c) eyes. That thing was really giant. You wanted to flee from it so bad. But you had made your decision.

With a fearful scream you turned on your heels and made yourself run back. Back to where you were originally coming and away from where you were supposed to go. You couldn’t let your parents behind, no matter what they said. You were going back to your family.

Family.

That word gave you some momentarily strength. Your legs muscles were aching and your lungs burning with the lack of air, yet you wouldn’t stop. You mustn’t. You had to find them – there was no way you could just go without them. No way in hell.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!” you screamed again. A scared scream. Scared for your own reckless actions and because of those creatures. People who were running to the port glanced at you as if you were insane, however none of them tried to stop you: they were way more concerned about their own lives. Why should they care about you anyway?

You inhaled and exhaled, trying to calm down and concentrate on only and just running. Why should you think about anybody else? ‘Focus, ________... Don’t pay attention to the others…. You have better things to do, don’t you?’ you mentally told yourself. That’s right. There was only you now.

Nothing else.

You were breathing heavy. For how long have you been running? Minutes? Hours? Who knows. But you were close now, and most important: you were still alive. Scared to death, yes, but alive. ‘Just a little more…! Please! Make me get there, God!!’ you begged, and ran faster.

And after some time you managed to get there, your house. Or at least that what used to be your house. You stopped and saw wide eyed as two of those monster sat on the grass eating. ‘No. Please, no, no, no!!! Don’t tell me that’s what I think it is!!’

You were paralyzed once again. ‘Stupid body. Why won’t you move? I need to move!!’ but you couldn’t help yourself. Why just—

“__________!!!!” you heard a familiar voice scream your name. Your head immediately turned to its direction. “_________!!! RUN!!!! GET OUT OF HERE!!!! I HAVE TOLD YOU TO GO, DIDN’T I??!!” your father shouted, running to your direction. “Papa!!” you said and walked to him. “PAPA!! WHERE’S MA—” but you cut yourself off as one of the giants extended his arm and took your father by the waist. He screamed after you and fought the creature, yet both of you knew it would result in nothing. “__-________!! RUN!!! YOU MUST SURVIVE, UNDERSTOOD?! PROMISE ME YOU’LL SURVIVE!! FIND A WAY TO KILL THOSE TITANS!! YOUR MOTHER AND I WILL BE PROUD OF YOU, __________!!” he screamed, and you saw that he was crying.

“NOOO!!! PAPAAAAAAA!!!!! PAPAA!!!”

“REMEMBER THAT WE LOVE YOU, _________!! WE ALWAYS HA—”

And then, there was blood everywhere. Some of it went on your face. “N-no…” you whispered, watching terrified as that thing – that titan, as your father said – ate and gulped him down. Dead. Your father died. Your beloved father and mother, both dead.

“No… NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” you shouted terrified, and did the most stupid thing you ever did in your entry life: ran towards the creatures, fear and hatred showing off in every movement of yours.

“I’LL KILL YOU!!!!! I SWEAR I’LL KILL EVERY EACH OF YOU!!!!! UNTIL THERE’S NO ONE LEFT!!! YOU MONSTERS!!!!!!!!”
