I love these little birds, and yes, very difficult to photograph. Last winter I watched one in front of my window but I wasn't able to to catch him. This is really a fabulous photo!

Nicely done! These are indeed a photographer's nightmare — I gave up trying long ago...
I like how you managed to get a clear view on its head (it would have been a pity not to see the part that gave the bird its name!).
The soft green bokeh is good too, makes the bird stand out more. And I like those fancy moss/lichen bits!
