Description Jenny Miller had spend three months chasing down a rare jade buddha, only to have it snatched away by a henchman of the Don of Chennai. But Jen wasn't about to relinquish the Buddha so easily. Chasing after the rather surprised business associate with her intrepid sidekick Jonah Jonson she finally managed to catch up. Would her persuasive ways be enough to get the Buddha or would she have to resort to her secret weapon - Jonah?

Done for the weekly challenge at 'the sidekick' and also do create a comparison piece between a 3delight and an iray render. Iray here definitely carries the day even though I couldn't get the sharpness I desired. but light, texture and especially skin just are so much better.... even though having a four times longer render time really is the big drawback... and that is only a simple scene.

Wanted to use a few characters and items I recently bought and they hold up very well I think.

Das ist eine witzige Szene und das Hintergrundfoto passt sich ziemlich gut ein!

I'm wondering if her secret weapon is actually just chucking Jonah in front of the rickshaw - I'm pretty sure with those tiny wheels won't be able to make it over him.

Also, I am discovering that lighting can be one of the biggest (and least obvious) causes for long render time in Iray. The HDRI is great for ambient lighting, but it does not always play well with additional light sources. I've had render times go from 20 minutes to 4 hours (or was it the other way around?) by rearranging the light sources and changing some settings.

I find that meshlights create a lot of noise and take much longer to render satisfactorily so I tend to avoid them

I think the background is a photograph, and if so, it is an impressive mix of the two. The colors and shadows match perfectly.

Yes, it is a photograph. Wasn't even that difficult to make the shadows match.
