I awoke to a clean slate - a new day. The grass is greener, livlier. The ponds are full. The birds are singing their minds. And I wondered at the gift handed to me.

Reading this is like breathing in the clean air after a storm, both in a literal and figurative sense...I can feel my spirit ruffling its feathers like a robin, ready to take flight.

Thank you for sharing this lovely poem of hopefulness and renewal. Sometimes we need a gentle rain to rinse the accumulated dust from our lives, and ultimately, we live by the decisions that we make.

The wisdom of the magnets speaks again.

Sun puts me to bed with a colorful sunset
and the fading light whispers,
      "Thank you for spinning
        colors in my sunrays.
        Today, you did magic."

And sun kisses me and all the flowers
to bloom.

This is just fantastic. I love the meter of the last line, especially.

(If you'll entertain a response from me for just a second... )

And thence I said to the rain at night,
to the shrewd rain clouds imbued with starlight,
"I made the world mine, for me and for you,
please wash it again, so we might start anew."

The gentle sound of rain drops echo through the night, as though the sky weeps with you, as you do every night.
Till dawn's gentle break, as the first rays of the magnificent sun paint the now scattered clouds in pinks and orange, the scent of the earth refreshingly cool after the rain's end.
You feel a gentle breeze grazing your cheek, alerting you for the long day ahead of you.

Reminds me of Noah and his Arc. Speaking of which, has anyone seen the movie Noah? Wonder if it's good, if I should see it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

AlwaysRainCheck In reply to TheRoyalCommunist [2016-03-15 15:29:28 +0000 UTC]

I have seen it. It's not a bad movie in itself -great cast, Aronofsky does his job impeccably- but let me tell ya, if you are expecting anything close to the original story from the Genesis you are in for a huge disappointment.

TheRoyalCommunist In reply to AlwaysRainCheck [2016-03-16 01:07:41 +0000 UTC]

Hmm,I saw the film about the Exodus last year. Nothing wrong with the cast and a good story, but it felt like they couldn't decide on what to put the effort on. No character development and only halfheartedly recreating the mythology around Mose. The result, for me, was a movie without anything catching the viewer, no attachment. I'm just worried Noah would be the same experience.

AlwaysRainCheck In reply to TheRoyalCommunist [2016-03-16 19:17:18 +0000 UTC]

Yep, I had the exact same impression after watching Exodus. I'm afraid if you didn't like Exodus you won't like Noah either.

fresh start to a new day. I like it
its been raining where I live lately so this one is really relatable.

I think mornings with thunderstorms are the best. I'm actually happy and excited on those mornings, lol. thunder is the best alarm clock!

FridgePoetProject In reply to CaptainElsa [2016-03-15 09:19:43 +0000 UTC]

For sure!!  We almost never get thunderstorms in my neck of the woods, so the "thunderstorm alarm clock" happened to me for pretty much the first time the other day.  SO COOL that it visits you more often!!
