Description
One of the equalists from The Legend of Korra. They're a facinating group of war machines, able to defeat benders without even using bending themselves. I remember in the original series, when non-benders were a sort of liability (Sokka himself constantly complained that he was the only non-bender of Team Avatar). Well, I shouldn't say all of them were. Mai and Ty Lee were definitely forces to be reckoned with. But it seems that, in the new series at least, the tables have turned. They, in fact, seem to have more power than benders, spending constant hours in war training while the rest of the civilians live in peacetime.Drawn on paper, references used for the outfit, then colored in photoshop.

Equalists creep me out beyond all reason. I mean, we shouldn't put people down for not bending but they are way out of line.

Yes indeed, it is really interesting seeing how the plethora of chi-blockers are merging with the Avatar world. I think that currently many of the characters are struggling to fight them because they are simply inexperienced when it comes to fighting such opponents. Much like Katara had a tough time with Ty Lee when she first battled her. It's going to get so much more interesting, I imagine, as the Korra crew learn how to properly fight against them... I think Asami will help them, is my prediction.

Also, it's really interesting considering in the old series non benders (Teo, The Freedom Fighters, Mai and Ty Lee) were liabilities but also worked with benders harmoniously. It's genius how the relationship has changed like you said

I think he's just some guy who was an apprentice of Ozai, trained to take people's bending away. After all, Ozai was the only one who experienced his bending taken away, so he might have learned the secret somehow.
