Description
The Mitsubishi Ki-67 was an Imperial Army Airforce bomber built and deployed late in the war at October of 1944.
It's official army designation is the Type-4 Heavy Bomber "Hiryu", Hiryu(飛竜) meaning flying dragon in Japanese.
It's allied code name was "Peggy"
now this line of Heavy bomber was actually an evolution from its previous model, the Ki-49. The Ki-49's official army designation being the Type-100 Heavy bomber "Donryu" Donryu(呑竜) meaning storm dragon.
The Type-4 is bigger then the Type-100 and is faster with heavier armament however it's bomb load was that of only 800 kg compared to the Type-100s 1000kg.
However the bomber was able to carry 2900kg of bombs for a kamikaze mission and the navy had their own Peggy bombers which was designated as P2M and Q2M "Yasukuni" (靖国)

  • Maximum speed: 537 km/h (334 mph, 290 kn) at 6,090 m (19,980 ft)
  • Cruise speed: 400 km/h (250 mph, 220 kn) at 8,000 m (26,000 ft)
  • Range: 2,800 km (1,700 mi, 1,500 nmi)
  • Crew: 6–8
  • Length: 18.7 m (61 ft 4 in)
  • Wingspan: 22.5 m (73 ft 10 in)
  • Height: 7.7 m (25 ft 3 in)
  • 1× 20mm autocannon (Ho-5 cannon) and 5x 12.7mm machine guns
  • 800kg of bombs or 1x Torpedo

As the simulation began the Type-4 Heavy bomber was the latest and under the robots evaluation, showed that the plane could be useful in a number of roles, however as time was pressing, it's first main role was to be that of a night time torpedo bomber.
More importantly it was decided to be used to attack the American fleet off the coast of Iwo Jima.
with its 2800km range of attack, it was possible to attack the fleet from air bases stationed in Chichi Jima and Haha Jima which put these Amry pilots under the command of the 27th Air Squadron.
The air squadron consisted of three main units, the scout unit, the bomber unit and the fighter unit, the fighters were mainly consisting of zero fighters but along side the Zero's were J1N Gekko "Irving" nightfighters, meanwhile the bomber unit consisted of P1Y Ginga "Frances",Type-96 Land based attack plane "Nell" and of course the Type-4 Heavy bomber Hiryu "Peggy"
now the bomber unit pilots were a mix of Japanese navy and army Airforce pilots which created some rivalry among the npcs, of which the FLUFU in command of the 27th Air Squadron had to deal with, trying to insure that they work together their plans were made vital in cooperation, this Said Peggy and Frances bombers were both fast and maneuverable planes which made their units perfect for Chaf duties when attacking the American fleet, on their first attack mission on the night of February 25th, the 3rd bomber unit ( x5 Peggy) and the 7th bomber unit ( x6 Frances) cooperated in Chaf dude as the 2nd,4th (both combined x7 Peggy) 5th ( x3 Nell) 8th,11th and 15th bomber units ( three combined x11 Frances) attacked the fleet from the north, that night 3 Peggy's and 4 Frances on chaf dude were shot down however thanks to their efforts the bomber units were able to hit their marks, damaging a heavy cruiser, sinking 3 assault landing crafts and heavily damaging 2 destroyers, the totel loss of aircraft 11 out of 32 but since the army and navy pilots worked together they were able to learn from their first attack and started to raid more and more frequently.
