Description
My submission for last year's Blizzard fan art competition - a close-up look at the Zerg's lowly worker unit from StarCraft. Oddly enough, there was practically no official artwork of this creature, so I was really free to be quite original. Even its method of locomotion is unclear - I decided to give him large sacks of gas under its "wings," which it probably uses to glide across the ground. Overall I'm rather pleased with the drawing, despite the fact that it didn't come close to countless other submissions in the contest
Now I'm curious what StarCraft 2's Drone is going to look like...

I like the style of this drone- and given the genetic diversity of the Zerg breeds, you could justify practically any appearance by just calling it a different morph or variant of the primary breed.

wow, i'm amazed, this show that even the lowest zerg unig is a fearful enemy (i'm more a terran player, but zerg is my second best) this is a really badass picture

Wonderful work, and I love the gas sacks underneath the drone. I've always wndered how they were able to get around since (from my knowledge) they have no legs and I love your idea with it.

The character designers didn't draw any artwork depicting the workers of starcraft. We can see in the intro cinematic some kind of SCV and that's all.

Just thought you might be interested. You can submit as many different pieces of artwork as you want. And there's plenty of different categories (pencil art, photoshop, 3d graphics etc.) of competition that you can win in.
