I imagine an alternate universe where Aladdin doesn't exist, and Agrabah has basically run itself without the help of royalty. And Jafar being a good guy who seduces Jasmine.

Yes it is true that hypnosis is the most consistent solution with the story we know. But I like the fact that Jasmine responds to Jafar herself without going through hypnosis.
