Description Largely based on my awesome uncle and also inspired by Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka... PRESENTING MR. MANAGER, MANAGER OF THE CLOCKWORK HOTEL!

...damn, this has been sitting in my sketchbook for TOO long, since January! And why transparent? I've had enough of my white backgrounds. The gallery looks horrible. ._.

Also in real-life... THE PANTS SPARKLE.

Name: Mr. Manager
Age: 38-40
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Sexuality: Straight
Moral standing: Questionable, but mostly good.
Profession: Manager of the Clockwork Hotel
Location: Depends on where the Clockwork hotel is this time.

Back-story: Very little is known about Mr. Manager, not even his first name. He seems to have appeared with the hotel though, like part of a package.
Mr. Manager had been away for quite a long time on a supposed ‘vacation’, leaving everyone to wonder where the cod-fishing hell he went. As a result, the previously (relatively) normal Clockwork Hotel had been left in complete and utter chaos, making it one of, if not THE most improbable and illogical places in the Clockwork Cities. Recently he has returned, blasting out of a clock using a parrot in the process. There is no sign of Mr. Manager wanting things fixed. In fact, he seems to enjoy his beloved hotel more this way.

Personal traits: In three words: Cheerful, insane, contradictory. In longer words: His behavior can be likened to that of a sugar-high squirrel. He is also generous (perhaps a bit too much.) and willing to help anyone in need.
Strengths: Seems to have a great understanding of how the Clockwork cities work, and can use the cities’ illogical… illogicalness to his convenience. He is not afraid to take risks, especially when it comes to his hotel. His ideas, despite how nonsensical they may seem, work more often than not. Also seems to appear whenever he is wanted (or mentioned).
Weaknesses: Vain and ego-centric: You’ll also find him mentioning how “charming and devilishly handsome” he is, or checking himself in the mirror every now and then. Very easily flattered. He is also overly-optimistic to the point of it being annoying, rash, and will not admit to being wrong, even if it’s quite obvious he is.
Fears: the destruction of his hotel, wardrobe and hair.

Quirks:
-Has the tendency to use random objects as explosives, even if they weren’t explosive to begin with.
-Calls people odd things. ex: “My little potato chip” or “My blue mongoose.”
-Talks too fast at times, and sometimes shouts/emphasizes random words. Also makes up his own vocabulary.
-Has a HUGE wardrobe. The colour schemes usually follow those of lovebirds and parrots for some reason.
-Could not care less if the residents in the hotel are murderers or saints so long as they don’t destroy it. (and so long as they aren’t mary sues.)
-He has his… moods. You might finding sledding down the hotel stairs on a tea tray, before walking off to clean his office up.

Extra details: Mr. Manager has a day outfit (as seen above) and a night outfit. Despite the unpredictability of the cities, he always knows when to change outfits, making him a walking clock of sorts. This is very useful to those who happen to be walking past him; they know when it’s safe enough to walk out.
Mr. Manager’s reaction upon seeing the Entertainer is something like this: “
The Entertainer’s reaction upon seeing him is something like this: “ …”

Whether he does that to annoy her or if he actually does like her is unknown. One thing we know for sure is that it usually results with him being given a musicbox, followed by him being blasted off to the next city. Any mention of him will cause her to run off and hide in the nearest teapot.

Incidentally, I used pencil watercolours and a ballpoint pen for this. If I had markers that epic I'd die from happiness, but I don't, so there. .w.

did Mr. Manager skin a sparkle-pire for those pants then? XDD

"His behavior can be likened to that of a sugar-high squirrel." This. This reminds me of the way Terry Pratchett writes.
"He has his… moods. You might finding sledding down the hotel stairs on a tea tray, before walking off to clean his office up." I like this man

Probably.

...Or I just happened to have a silver pencil colour. XD

I love Pratchett's work too much, it's even influenced my writing! I think the clockwork cities itself was inspired by both Discworld and Wonderland. |D

He's a fun person yesh!

You see why I couldn't keep him a secret any longer?!

I've always wanted to have such a wacky character, so I'm really happy with him. I know the drawing is pretty simple but I'm quite proud of it for some reason.

Ohhhhh yes~

thank you so much Laura!

Yeeep! Ceola. You do NOT want to see her warderobe(s) (three in each mansion, one for clothes, one for shoes, and the biggest ones for jewelry).
