Description THE LAST THING. YOUR INBOXES CAN NOW RELAX.

But yep yep. I'm just going to basically copy paste what I said on tumblr. c':

"So a year ago I did this sketch thingy. [link]

I had an empty canvas (hence the canvas question on formspring) and had no idea what to do with it until I remembered the sketch! So. Yep. This is made mostly with acrylics. I had to use a bit of gouache to have the brighter stuff stand out more though. ‘Course the camera kinda ruined it, but ah well. c’:
There’s a small story behind this; tis based on an encounter I had with an old crow at a park. He had a bad wing, and was walking around. A friend and I kept trying to come close to see if we could help it somehow. It only took a few steps away. We found him again later that night near our cabin, standing next to one of our chairs and just looking at us.
We came back the next day, one of the people who work there told us that despite the bad wing, they found the old crow had died up on our cabin’s roof. No idea how he got there, but there were quite a few crows mourning him that day. :c

So yep. Have a crow/raven person. I do have a small story for the painted guy, but it’s not a pretty one."

Sorry for blurring out the last name. Internet safety and all that jazz, y'know.

Also somewhat inspired by the poem "The Raven", by Edgar Allan Poe, and the song "The Doctor's Wife", by The Clockwork Quartet, so credit's due where credit's due.

I can really see why you were saving that canvas, and you sure did save it for something good c:

I think it's great that you work with painting techniques now and then, it brings out your ability to actually shade stuff more carefully and let study light sources and how they affect the face and clothes ;u; it's really visible in this piece, and I can see that you've taken your time with it! From shaping the face just right, keeping some form of contour while still going for the nicely blended painting style! It really applies to your own style a lot, it would never have been mistaken for anyone else's c:

;u; You should really be proud of this piece, along with the story it makes a very nice entity since it feels like there is indeed much more to this guy than just a good painting!

dfsghs I took too much time to answer this fff-

But Oh gosh nanas, I was not expecting such a lovely comment. I'm glad you like it yes, it was a lot of fun experimenting with it! Also it feels really odd, painting with a brush as opposed to just sketching. Tis like magic. c':

Eee, thank you so much Nanas!

Yep. Nothing says 'sophisticated' like a feathery neckbeard?
