ROOKs:

The ROOK program is the “beginner squad” for C.H.E.S.S. (Coalition Headquarters for Enhanced Superhuman Security).There are several levels from PAWNs (Support staff) to KNIGHTs (Single Heroes), BISHOPs (Team of Heroes), The QUEENs (The leader of C.H.E.S.S.) and The KING (The Face of the organization). There are four of each divided by color (Black, White, Red, & Gray). ROOKs is where those new heroes go to learn their craft and train with their powers.

This is an idea I created in highschool with help from my friend Dave. The first characters were:

Crescent
Felidae
Random
Valance
Retro
Thriftwind
Surge

Crescent was a copy from the anime Vampire Hunter D. Felidae was a Wolverine clone with like a symbiote like costume. Valance was a lady that controlled fabric. Random was a guy with tuxedo armor. Retro who had the ability to control other people's powers. Lastly, Thriftwind who was a Native American speedster. Surge had electrical powers.

Now, I dropped Valance, Crescent is a lady with an enchanted weapon, Felidae changed his name to Grimalkin and lost the suit. Retro became Rival with a slight change to the powerset. Random became Wilde Kard and ditched the armor and being a guy. Thriftwind became Taiwanese and got a mohawk. Finally ditched Surge.
