I almost forgot about this. o-o'
The picture is pretty rushed to get it done before the month ends, and I didn't really like the outcome sooo... I figured I'd make up for it somewhat with a piece of literature to go with it as well! If not I'd feel pretty bad claiming the war prompt it was made for... Which is this:
Silent Paws: The Atolats are skilled not only in hunting prey, but in hunting the enemy as well. They are the stealthy warriors of Howahkan. By orders of your Naa'taanii, the Atolats are to carefully watch the Na"em and report back to Powaqa with useful findings. This is an Atolat specific and solo prompt. Write lit or art to complete this prompt. You can participate in this prompt before the end of the war for an extra 5 antlers.
Keep your ears pricked. Your eyes on he target. Find something worth bringing home…
Her bounty would be fruitful and worthwhile for the pack, she’d make sure of it! Except this time it wasn’t about hunting the most hares, or other small prey such as what she’d been tasked to do in the early phases of being taught how to hunt. Today, she was hunting Na”em wolves.
Information about their location was essential, the pack as highly nomadic and they obviously needed to know as much of where they were as possible. She considered herself both a spy and a scout at the same time, something which she hardly thought of as half-bad. It felt kind of cool, sneaking around in the forests looking for something new to prey on.
Her mind stretched back to her meeting with a Na”em wolf earlier this season, and she could feel her stomch knot. Would she have to fight too? She wasn’t much of a brawler really, and she was slightly scared she might have to fight for life or death against wolves whom had been kind towards her… If one could count Napriva as kind, that is. The wolfess had been strict and snappy towards her, but Pi had hardly thought of her as mean or cruel. To think their packs were at war, and here she was scouting and searching, sniffing out the familiar scent of a wolf whom might have become her friend if she had tried hard enough…
Sighing she decided there was hardly any point in pondering on what could have happened, she was not likely to find a friend in another pack any time soon due to the complexity between Na”em and Howakhan, and Pi was fairly frightened by the wolves from Onni. They somehow appeared strange, alien from themselves. Then again, life in the other packs was very different from that of Howakhan. Pi had only recently immersed herself into the culture of her pack, getting herself into a fight with Radek earlier. They were still packmates, despite the other wolf hardly seeming appealing to her in the way he both cursed and challenged her. Plus, she could definitely see how getting blood rushing through your body through a well-fought fight would create a stronger bond within the pack. Depending on how the fight was started, of course… She’d argue she wasn’t any closer to Radek now than before, but she at least knew his name and parts of his fighting style.
A fog was drawling into the forest as she lost herself in thought, and she shrugged slightly as she thought back to the last time she’d experienced fog in the forest. Frowning she prepared to turn back, not intending to lose herself once again, when a crack of a branch being stepped on caught her attention. Something of somebody was out there… Perking her ears she tried to make out who it might be, but ultimately fell short. Feeling like it was her duty to investigate, as well as knowing that she might just come across a Na”em she could spy on, she slipped further into the forest, hoping that she’d have learned enough from last time to successfully get back to her homeland.
Word count: 544 words
I left the story open, since I haven't had time to find myself a Na"em wolf she can run into... If anyone has a Na"em wolf in need of a Howakhan RP partner, I'm up for continuing the story from this point on out! I also includd small pointers of the story towards previous/current RPs, hopefully making it a bit more interesting to read. c:
Believe this would sum up to 8 antlers? (Half-body (1) + simple background (1) + Literature 500 words (1) + War Prompt (5))
Or does it count as the prompt being claimed twice, since I did both art and literature? O.o
