And fun fact, the spirits are actually supposed to talk to the immortals and give them guidance in their dreams. But...

Corruption is blocking Death out.

Goldenstar feels unworthy and doesn't dare to talk to Life.

And Hope... They're a no show.

Also I'm taking this opportunity to say that Souleater is not pure evil, but he's not redeemable either. The moment that red eye showed up, the chance to ever break the curse vanished. And it's true that it's the curse that makes him crave eating hearts and enhances his cruelty. But his actions and choices are still his own (except for that one time... but that's not important right now) and he should be held accountable for it. Corruption might give him ideas, but he's the one doing them. So he is most definitely a bad guy, but with a softer side to him. A tragic villain perhaps, but a villain nonetheless.

This has been on my mind for while. Might copy paste it to a fitting comic page sometime :,)

And it's true he would be different without the curse. But that's kinda irrelevant now.
