I'm just getting worse with my titles now.

Oh, those checkers at the top scanned in bad, didn't they? They don't really look like that. I'd chop them off, but the writing is up there.

I spent a long time on this. This is for 's contest. You have to draw her character, Exie. I love her design, so I decided to have a stab at it. I didn't read the guidelines properly (you should!) and it said that a background must be included, so I thought "I'LL GIVE YOU A BACKGROUND" and got my courageous face on. Sweets are fun to draw, aren't they? I don't take pride in my backgrounds, but I think this is a step up from really boring.

I tried pink lineart to see how that would go down. I actually don't like it, but I don't think it makes the piece terrible (those checkers, on the other hand...). I think Exie looks fine because she's mainly pink, but the sweets aren't. Boo. At least I'm getting used to where and where not to use coloured fineliners. The black gave me a hard time by smudging when I coloured over it, so the writing might not be clear. It says "What the princess wants... The princess gets" to go with her somewhat spoiled nature. Ii wanted personality in this.

Her hair was a lot of fun. I don't normally like short hair, but it was enjoyable. I think the symmetry of it looks pretty cute. Those crowns are always darling to draw. I was having a lot of fun drawing her. I spent a long time on this trying to get everything right. I searched all of her gallery looking for her bunny, but I couldn't find a drawing, so I made one up. I'm sorry if you actually have a bunny drawing for her. ~_~

I chose to draw her original outfit. Not many people have done that, but I like that one the best. I could have taken a challenge, but I like the casualness and the simplicity of this design. It would have looked too cluttered otherwise. I think the folds on her dress look good, so I'm glad. I've wanted to do that for so long, but my heavy blending prevents me from doing 3D clothes.

The contest has a long deadline, way up until December, so I suggest you have a go at it. It's been good practise for me. Busted my back though.

Exie is actually her character and Jest is her boyfriend's. How cute is that please? My boyfriend would vomit on my face if I told him to create a character.

Just a note to the realism artists I watch: You don't have to favourite shiny desu like this! I watch you because you're amazing. I know the realist artists often give me the best feedback/conversation, but I don't want you all to favourite out of being nice. Really. xD
